Normal POV
They say there's a reason behind everything. Every look, every breath, every silence. There's always a reason. She was sitting on the window sill, her eyes sparkling with fascination. She leaned against the wall, one leg on the sill and one leg hanging aimlessly swinging back and forth. She hugged her knee close to her chest, slightly leaning against the window, breathing steadily. He sat on the bed his knees close to him silently watching her with a small smile on his lips. There was a reason for the distance. He liked watching her eyes sparkle in absolute fascination. He at times dreamed of her, among the bright green grass, her eyes closed to the horrors around her, her usually tense muscles loose and free, a smile playing on her pink lips. Liberated. He liked to see her liberated. She cocked an eyebrow in his direction and her lips curved on one side. He shook his head and continued to look at her, now her lips having a full on full smile. She got up from the sill and approached the bed, fingers tracing through her hair. They didn't need words. He extended his hand and she took it, like a child fascinated with the shape of his hands and the ripping muscles. Like she's looking at him with completely new set of eyes. With a new found clarity. The smile fell from both their faces as she began to trace his abs, her cold fingers tickling his skin. His eyes met with hers and she withdrew her fingers. She flopped down on the bed, facing him with an unreadable expression. He traced the fine lines of her face as she closed her eyes and leaned into his touch. "I'm not only doing it only for you Lynn. Im doing it for Alluka too" He said it because it was he wanted her to know. With no ending and no beginning. Just naked and bare like it always was with her. No unnecessary attachments. "I know" was whispered into the night. "My family doesn't trust me. I'm openly going against them" At that her attention snapped back to his face. "I told them straight out who's side I'm on"Illumi stared at Killua's face with that plain look on his face as if the words that came from Killua's mouth had no effect on him. "You know very well who's side I'm on in this case" Killua had said those words after pondering over it for so many days. Illumi then raised his eyebrows, an amused glint dancing in those usually emotionless voids. "What case?" Killua glared at him. "You know very well what I'm talking about. The Scarlet case"
"The Zoaldicks have nothing to do with that Kill"
"Who the hell are you fooling Illumi? You and I both know that you're involved in that case"
"Ya right. Kill, I'll know if I had any role to play on that case-"
"Don't act innocent. Why else would you want me to keep an eye on the police investigation? Why would you want to separate me from Lynn? Why would you want to break her?"
"Simple. You should know all those reasons already. I asked you to keep an eye on the investigation cause I'm not an idiot. I know we're the number one suspects just because the Scarlets always used to butt heads with us and we have the resources to pull off an act like that. All I wanted to do was make sure the police don't dig up anything else. Every company has its secrets. Dark secrets that should never get out. All I was doing was preventing those secrets from going out. I don't like the police sticking their nose into our business. I wanted to separate you from Lynn because I care about you. I don't want my brother to fall for a charity case that's begging for attention and sympathy. And finally the reason why I broke her was because I was curious. I wanted to see how much she could take" and just like that he spoke without leaving even one blind spot. It angered Killua that this man could lie so blatantly to his face. "Whatever. Like hell I'll believe you. I'm going to bring you down. All of you. You destroyed too many lives"
"I don't know why you keep wasting your time on matters that doesn't concern you. But if you really want to bring down your own family, then your making us all your enemies Kill"
"So? Am I supposed to be scared?"
"Well this would turn out to be amusing then. Kill playing the villain"
