He had never been inside an ambulance before...well not when he was conscious.

During the accident with Mohammed, he was in one- but he was passed out due to whiplash.

He looks at his father nervously and is thankful for the two EMTs in the Rig as well.

"We'll drop you off wherever you want." The woman EMT states. Akash smiles at her and Logan has a sick feeling in his stomach. "We owed Karen one."

"Can you drop us near Clemons and Powell- please?" Akash asks and the woman nods.

"Of course. Want me to check him real quick make sure he's alright? He does have a nasty hematoma and..."

"He's fine." Akash states and Logan feels increasingly worse.

His plan did not work.

He won't be going to the hospital.

He won't be able to convince people that his father is abusing him.

The ride over to Clemons and Powell was too quick for Logan's liking. He wished it was longer so he didn't have to immediately be punished for his attempt at freedom. When they get out, Logan feels defeated as he's back the apartment building.

"Thanks for the ride. We appreciate it." Akash states and leads Logan inside before the EMT's can say anything. They head upstairs and into the elevator. Akash keeps a firm hand on Logan's shoulder the entire way up and to their door. Once inside, Akash lets go of him and Logan knows better than to rush off for his room. "Now—what am I going to do with you? I certainly can't send you back to school. And I frankly don't want to put up with you."

"Could give me back to my Mum?" Logan suggests and that earns him a back hand.

"Fucking stupid! You're not going back to your mother ever. The only way you'll ever get back to her is in a body bag. Go to your fucking room and don't come out until I figure out what to do with you." Logan walks off and enters his bedroom. He heads into the closet and tucks himself away for good measure.

...

Helen could hardly focus on work for the rest of the afternoon. Her mind raced with worry and all she could do is hope that New Amsterdam would admit him so he could be safe from Akash's tyranny and abuse.

"Hey...I heard what happened." Lauren stands in the doorway for a few moments before stepping into the room and closing the door.

"I'm a fool to have thought anything would change for me—coming back here."

"Something did change Helen. You found Max and Luna and..."

"Lost my baby boy in the process. So how far did I get really?"

"A lot farther than you've been before." She states and comes towards her. She sets a letter on her desk and Helen just looks at it.

"Is that?"

"Your heart isn't Georgia's. I know that doesn't truly matter at the moment...but you should know—as well as Max."

Helen picks up the letter and removes it from the torn envelope and begins reading.

It brings her some peace of mind.

Not that she's been worrying about that but of information as of late, but still.

"Well...I guess now we know."

"Yeah."

"George Whitman...hmm...I wonder who he was. What he did.  What he liked."

"I tried googling him, but nothing came up. Not even an obituary...which is slightly odd."

"A bit yeah." She sets the letter back down and leans in her seat. "I hope Logan is alright."
