Max and the kids were beyond stumped and very concerned at the disappearance of Helen.
He called Lauren over to assist in trying to figure out where she is- which at first Lauren was beyond irritated that she was even asked to help, considering the hurtful things Helen had said to her the previous day.
Yet as the forty minutes of looking for her turned into 3 hours of pacing and re-going through the home fifteen more times, panic set it all of them because it simply made no sense.
Her purse, wallet and phone were at home.
None of her clothes or shoes were missing.
And no note was left.
It was as though she quite literally disappeared into the walls.
"I've searched everywhere Lauren. Where the Hell could she have gone?!" Max frantically asks as he paces the living room- both kids now upstairs trying not to be too upset or involved with their Mum's disappearance.
"I don't know. I don't understand it either. I get she was mad at you, but to play this sort of stupid game is beyond her." Lauren says with her arms crossed. Max looks up and finds Flower lying by the basement door instead of upstairs with Luna.
"The dog was trapped in the basement...why?" Max asks.
"I don't know, Max. I don't have any idea what is going on in Helen's head at the moment."
Going over to the dog, Max bends down and pats her head, but when his hand leaves the dog, black dust comes off on his hand.
"What the Hell? Why is she covered in black dust?" Max asks and Lauren sighs- feeling very flustered by his stupid questions she has zero answers for.
"She was in a basement, Max- that is covered in dust from the cement floor."
"Yeah...but there's also small cobwebs on her."
"So? She was probably trying to find something to do down there." Max stands up and opens the door- which leads to Flower hustling down the stairs before him.
"And that? That's not weird to you?" Max asks and follows the dog down- not even waiting for a response. When he gets to the basement, he finds Flower digging at the bottom of the door that leads into the laundry room. "Still not weird?"
"Just fucking go in then!" Lauren snaps and Max opens the door- to which the dog bounds over to the washer and dryer and starts barking and working her way behind it.
"Hey! Hey stop, dog what are you...Helen?!" Max gets by the back of the machine and finds her cramped in a tight seated position slowly waking up to find Max staring down at her and the dog working her way behind the machine to lick her face. "What the fuck are you doing?!"
"Hm?" Helen rubs her eyes and coughs from the dust entering her lungs.
"Helen!" Max calls again to hopefully bring life back into her as he slowly moves the machine out a bit to get back there himself.
Lauren comes over and looks just as concerned as Helen struggles to find the ability to stand- having been curled up for too long on the cement floor.
"Wh...Max! Someone was in the house! Someone came in!" Helen now frantically jostles herself fully awake and grabs ahold of him as he helps her up.
