The boys were up her ass all weekend.

The constant back and forth with them wanting to know what was going to happen next for them, made her insane.

Logan wanted to understand why it was that Max looked at her with 'dodgy' eyes as he called them.

While Lukas wanted her to explain why she seemed keen on being 'handled' by Max.

No matter how much she insisted that-first, she is the adult so whatever she wishes to do with her life is her own business. Second, there was nothing either of them needed to worry about because she and Max are simply friends. And third, sometimes adults just touch each other in a nonchalant kind of way and meant nothing by it.

That last one- didn't go over well.

They continued their fifty millions questions well into the start of Monday- and it never seemed to stop as Tuesday came and went.

No amount of distractions or parental threats seemed to quell the boys' worries that a new man was encroaching into their personal lives.

And no matter how much they actually like Max, the fact of the matter is is that they do not wish another man to come in and uproot their lives again.

They don't wish for their mother to be hurt once more.

And despite how nice a man Max seems to be- neither of her sons like him enough to trust him with their mother's fragile heart.

So after dropping them off at school this morning, Helen makes her way across town to her doctors appointment that she had been avoiding for a while now.

It's not that she doesn't care about her health.

In fact, she's a very health conscious person.

She merely doesn't have time to go through the entire process of check ups and follow ups and all that nonsense- no matter how important it is.

Missing work for a check up doesn't do her any good, when the American Health system is an unnecessary expense.

It's the one thing she misses about Britain.

"Good Morning, I'm Helen Sharpe. I have an appointment with Dr. Ellis." Helen states and the nurse looks over her computer and then smiles at Helen.

"Alright, Helen- I just need you to answer these follow up questions on the IPad and we will get you back there shortly." Taking the tablet, Helen heads to a seat in the waiting area and sits down. She begins filling out all the information that she normally has to do. The answers may have changed because of her living situation, but the rest are all the same.

After filling out everything to the T- Helen heads back up and hands the tablet to the nurse and then sits down once more. The room is fairly sparse. Only a good handful of patients sit and wait to be seen. The majority probably over the age of fifty, while a young boy- maybe 8 or 9 sits with his mom and seems dreadfully pale.

She sits back and tries to calm her nerves as she waits, but this appointment always makes her more anxious than any other.

"Helen?" A male nurse comes out and Helen smiles softly before standing with her purse and heading over. She follows him back and he has her stand on the scale. "How are we doing today?"

"Fine, thank you. Yourself?"

"Oh, can't complain. It's been an easy morning." The man comments and takes Helen's weight and then leads her back to a room.

Once inside, he smiles and hands her a paper gown.

"We'll have you put that on in a bit. But first I need to take your blood pressure." He gestures for her to sit and she does. He puts the cuff on her right arm and begins the measurement. Once it's done, he checks her blood oxygen level and then types a bit before smiling at Helen. "Alright, if you could slip out of your shirt and bra and put that gown on- Dr. Ellis will be right in with you."
