She didn't know what to do.
Well.
She knew what to do.
But it's the fear of doing it that keeps her still and worrying.
Helen could hardly focus for the her last two classes- her nerves were so bad and the twisting in her stomach made her beyond upset.
As her last class leaves- she whips her phone out and googles.
And we all know the rabbit hole you fall down when you Google anything.
It all eventually leads to you 'dying' or having some weird funky disease.
But she googled nonetheless.
Can you get pregnant from pre-cum?
And unfortunately for her.
Unfortunately for Max.
The answer was most definitely yes.
It seems their efforts of the pullout method were in vain.
And the only next reasonable thing for Helen to do, is to obviously take a test.
But how can she when she has two boys of her own, and helping raising a little girl—and possibly already agreeing to take Lauren's child?!
She couldn't possibly take on five kids.
She couldn't possibly go back on her promise to Lauren.
And she could t possibly trap Max with another baby when their relationship simply started a little over two months ago.
Yes!
Two months. They're in the tail end of October and already they've escalated their relationship faster than they normally would agree too. They've fallen into a weird laps of judgement and now—NOW— they could possibly be extending their already kind of fucked up make shift family by one.
Locking her phone, Helen sets it down and pushes her hands over her face and through her extensions- trying to push out the worry and fear that's developing in her mind.
But it's not working.
What will the kids think?
The boys will most certainly devour Max with fire.
Luna will probably be excited.
And Max...
Oh poor Max will have a heart attack before she even opens her mouth.
And then there's the matter of work.
How whorish of her to get pregnant by another colleague she only met just recently?!
Whether they think they're a cute couple or not.
She feels terrible.
"Mummy!!" Luna comes hurrying in with a library book in her hand come rushes over to the distraught woman in her chair. "Look what I got!!"
She shows Helen a very old book on How to Draw Dog Breeds. Smiling widely, Helen pulls the little girl close to her and kisses her head- gently squeezing her in hopes it makes her own worries turn to excitement.
"Oh my goodness! I love it! Do you have fun today?" She asks and Luna sets the book down and looks at Helen with a big smile.
"Yeah! Miss J brought in pails to decorate for Halloween tomorrow!"
"Halloween is tomorrow?! Already?!" Helen looks at her calendar on the wall behind her and sure enough the 31st is tomorrow. "Oh dear, how did we miss that?"
