(I recommend rereading: "The Party Watches IT: Chapter 15: You See IT!" in Ao3)
Haven't you seen my dog...?
Devlin comments -Yeah, I heard you muttering his name in your sleep the other day. I didn't understand the context, but you seemed very agitated-
Liam mumbles in confusion -Mike? Mike? No, it doesn't sound familiar... isn't that the name of the hunchback from the patch in the building next door?-
Henry replies -No, that's Mark...- Maldonado comments -Well then, no, no idea who you're talking about, good night...- and lies down in his bed.
Then Dan asks -Wasn't that the scarecrow's other name?- Liam says, surprised -That guy, yeah, I know, I got him now... Lucy's brother, yeah, we saw each other at the wedding... although we didn't talk much-
Will says with some regret -He was my best friend...- Henry asks -Was he? Isn't he anymore?-
Liam asks -Who keeps the same friend since childhood?- Henry replies angrily –Me-
Maldonado laughs and comments -How sad your life is- Devlin angrily turns off the light and lies down too, but his curiosity got the better of him, and he asks -So what happened between you two?-
There was silence, for a second, he thought his roommate had already fallen asleep, but then he heard something strange, like murmurs. They seemed to be arguing among themselves.
Until Will finally answered -Things; distance, time, occupations... misunderstandings- Henry asks, interested -Misunderstandings?-
Will murmurs –Hmm- Henry comments -If you don't want to tell me, that's fine...-
But the brunette continued -No, it's fine... It was actually a bit silly. I was about to tell them, you know?... my family and friends about my Shining, because I discovered that our friend Steve also had "abilities," and later that I apparently inherited mine from my mother-
Henry asks, interested -Really? What could they do?- Will answers -They're mediums- Devlin says mockingly -Ghosts don't exist-
Will prefers to just continue –the thing is, mid-sentence they assumed I was talking about my "preferences", they always assumed things like that and then wouldn't even let me talk, and well... I decided not to contradict them, anyway, it was a topic I planned to talk to them about eventually, so I left my "abilities" for later... but the very next day I overheard my friend Mike on the phone talking about something "unnatural" that he couldn't stand anymore and...-
Henry says –ohhh, did you think he was talking about "that" or your shining?- Will shrugs and continues –neither, actually he was talking about something else, when we found out we took it as something funny, but...-
The blond comments –I understand... seriously, the few times I've used the line with other people, they stare at me afterwards... like I scare them, but at the same time they're fascinated with me... it makes me very uncomfortable-
Will smiles slightly and says –yeah, I understand... it's more like vulnerability disguised as a gift- Henry doesn't says nothing about it.
The brown-haired man continued -And anyway, I told my brother what Mike said, then my brother told his girlfriend, who was also Mike's sister, and before I knew it, the whole group knew, and they started mistreating Mike until the whole thing blew up... Like I said, it was all resolved in the end, and we agreed not to talk about it anymore-
Devlin asks -Did you apologize?- Will asks -Uh?- and Henry asks again -Did you ever apologize to him for "turning the whole group against him"... by mistake?-
