Chapter 23: The ice reaper vs The calamity

Donte Throws Gladius aside like a rag doll while making eye contact with Dominick"GRRR"Donte growls at Dominick before Dominick slowly backs up to Aka"So...What's the plan"Dominick asks while standing next to Aka.Aka Summons her light spear and gets in a fight stance"Simple...You subdue him and I can work my magic.Easy enough right?"Just as Aka finishes her sentence Donte dashes at Dominick and Kicks him,Taking flight until they collide into the realm's walls and breaks it.Dominick is sent out of the realm and is floating in a purple space"What...is this place"Dominick looks around in confusion until he sees an orb that looks like it contains another realm"This must be the space that the realms reside in" Dominick starts to sweat as he comes to a realization"...HE BROKE A REALM?" Dominick yells before a rabid Donte comes at him and kicks him again into another realm.Dominick lands in a cold icy place and is confused until tengliu speaks to him"Dominick we are now in helheim...But that doesn't matter now you must stay focused on the battle"Dominick quickly focuses his attention on Donte who comes flying at him again at light speeds but this time Dominick just barely dodges and counters with a kick to the gut.Donte flys back as Dominick conjures his scythe before he rushes at Donte at Mach speeds, clashing his scythe with Dontes daggers that he equipped just before they made contact.The two boys are at a standstill with both of their weapons clashing"WAKE THE HELL UP"Dominick yells before he makes ice spikes come out the ground in hopes to stab Donte to submission but Donte turns into a shadowy haze and shifts behind Dominick before Spin kicking him in the arm.Dominick manages to block the blow in time but he still gets sent flying in the air as he thinks back in time.Donte and Dominick are sitting in Dominick's room in temple in the mortal realm shortly after the tournament"So I didn't know you can turn your body into a shadowy haze Donte"Dominick says as he takes a videogame off of his shelf.Donte grabs a controller before answering Dominick"When I found out what god I was linked to I was given some more abilities as you saw when I phased through orenjis blast and when I made those clones of myself when I fought Hagane.Sadly those moves consume A LOT of stamina to the point where I hate using them.So I'm not gonna use them until they are ABSOLUTELY necessary."Donte says before plopping down on the bed.The flashback ends and Dominick is still flying in the air"That move should've taken most of his stamina out so he should be slower"Dominick thinks to himself before Donte flys after him still faster than ever.Donte catches up to Dominick in the air and kicks him into the cold icy ground of helheim"HAHAHHAHAHA"Donte laughs out loud before diving at Dominick with shadow katanas.Donte tries to hit Dominick with a black slashing bullet but Dominick puts up an ice wall just barley before Donte can reach him"He's still way faster than me.I'm just barely reacting to his attacks..And why isn't he moving slower.What's going on here?I might need to use it"Dominick says before shattering the ice wall and slashing Donte across his chest making him fly back into a mountain.Donte is relentless though and quickly bursts out of the mountain with his daggers and attempts to cut Dominick's throat but Dominick dodges with ease this time.Donte misses the attack and ends up behind Dominick and Donte is surprised by this so he looks back to see Dominick's eyes are glowing a bright blue color"I haven't used my crystal eyes since the fight with Devadatta"Dominick says as he cracks his neck"Your speed is irrelevant now...I see it all"Dominick says before rushing at Donte with his scythe in hand.The two boys begin to attack each other over and over again each hit making them bleed with such ferocity while Aka stays watching from afar for an opening"I wanna help Dominick but in this fight I would just be slowing him down....Wait I was never told how I was supposed to save Donte if this ever happened.Maybe I could brainstorm some ideas while their fighting"Aka says as Donte comes flying at her due to Dominick launching him from the impact of a attack he landed.Donte crashed into the mountain that Aka is standing on and looks up at her with foam at the mouth and pitch black eyes voided of humanity.Donte out of control lunges at Aka in a fit of rage but Hyoga stops him in his tracks.Dominick blitzes his way up the mountain and and coats his fist in an icy blue aura"Shattering IMPACT!"and punches Donte straight in the chest.Donte goes flying once again as Dominick watches him fall down"He's fighting in a frenzy right now.He's barley using his daggers or his other weapons.He really isn't himself right now"Dominick thinks to himself as he jumps off of the mountain and looks Donte directly in his eyes"You just tried to hurt your girlfriend man.WAKE THE HELL UP YOU IDIOT"Dominick rushes at Donte once again But this time Donte dodges his attack and grabs him by the throat before lifting him up and slamming him on the ground which causes a nearby mountain to crumble.Dominick is in shock as hes forced on the ground by Donte with a tight grip on his neck"What the hell,Donte usually isn't this strong normally.He usually relies on speed to defeat his enemies..This makes no sen-"Dominick stops his thought as Donte slams him down once again but this time he ends up breaking the icy floor of helheim.Dominick is submerged underwater Before coming to a realization"That's right I forgot..I'm fighting a demon here.His strength is amplifying...tch where was this strength before!"Dominick Uses an ice geyser to propel himself out of the water and towards Donte.While Dominick is in the air he conjures two ice fans and uses them to make an ice tornado to send at Donte.Donte gets blown back by this tornado and is in the air flying back until Hyoga comes behind him and slashed him in the back with his ice claws before Dominick runs at Donte and slashed him with his scythe.Dominick and Hyoga start to attack Donte simultaneously,their in perfect sync and thus starts to overwhelm Donte but he can't do anything about it. Dominick and Hyoga are attacking him so well that it starts to look like a beautiful dance"Celestial dance"Dominick calls out as he and Hyoga finished their attack with Dominick slashing Dontes Stomach at the same time Hyoga slashes Dontes back.Donte falls down covered in blood and is unconscious,Dominick kneels down in pain before coughing up blood"Damn I took more damage than I thought AGH"Dominick looks at his stomach which is bleeding from a gaping wound,Dominick uses his powers to ice the wound on his gut"this should do for no-RGGH but it still hurts like hell"Dominick yelps before Aka lands beside him"Well Aka go work your magic" Dominick says as Aka begins to walk forward with a glowing white aura around her but suddenly the realm itself begins to shake,mountains begin to break and Donte plasters a devilish smile on his face¨AKA GET BACK¨Dominick yells at Aka as he rushes to her side and kicks her out of the way before Donte punches Dominick.Dominick manages to block this attack but he still gets blown back quite a bit¨what now???¨Dominick groans to himself before he sets his gaze on Donte whose wings are set ablaze with black fire,his nails sharp and black and shadow tattoos covering his body.Dominick's eyes widen at the sight of this and and smirks in the face of death before calling Hyoga to his side¨COME ON COME AT ME¨Dominick yells before him and Hyoga begins to merge and Dominick dawns his Dragonic ice armor.Donte wastes no time and shoots shadow fire at Dominick but Dominick dodges It and counters with an ice beam and freezes Dontes leg.Dominick uses this to his advantage and Dashes at Donte and attempts to punch Donte in his face but He catches the punch and smirks before punching Dominick in the face.The blow causes a shockwave to occur around the two boys but Dominick stands his ground,spits blood out of his mouth and smirks"COME ON"Dominick yells before punching Donte back making another shockwave around them.The two boys start utterly destroying each other until Donte kicks Dominick in the air and jumps off of the ground and places his hand on Dominick's back and combusts black fire on him. Dominick falls to the ground and Donte dives at him with his nails ablaze with black fire"THAT'S NOT GONNA WORK"Dominick says before he rolls out of the way and kicks Donte into nearby rubble when he landed.Donte smiles an insane smile and sinks into the ground"Where is he coming from?Under,left,right?"Dominick thinks to himself as he looks around.Dominick starts to worry a little because he can't detect where Donte is hiding"BEHIND YOU!"A voice tells Dominick before Donte comes out of the shadows behind Dominick. Dominick manages to dodge at the last second and counter attacks Donte with a slash from his ice sycthe"THANKS TENGLIU"Dominick yells with a smirk"That wasn't me..."Tengliu says to Dominick in confusion.Dominick's eyes widen"So who the hell said that?"Dominick says as Donte snarls at him and flies at him at high speeds before punching him in the face head on"I guess that will have to wait until later"Tengilu says to Dominick as he flies back.Dominick flips on his feet mid air and he starts to transform his scythe into a bigger version,the blade becomes sharper and it starts to become more blue with ice energy. Dominick strikes the ground and huge ice spiked sprout out the ground And Donte gets trapped"THIS'LL FINISH IT"Dominick says as he jumps in the air and makes multiple ice projectiles that look like moon crescents.Dominick spits blood out his mouth before shouting"CELESTIAL MOON CRESCENTS"The crescents gets sent down at Donte at Mach speeds and Donte gets hit with every single one of them and four moon crescents bind his legs and feet rendering him unable to move"AKA NOW!!"Dominick shouts as Aka comes free falling from the sky and lands on Donte before placing her hands on his head"LET'S HOPE THIS WORKS!"Aka then expels light energy from her hands and Donte as well as Aka passes out.Aka gets transported into Dontes mindscape"It's so...Dark in here"Aka reaches her hand out and runs it through the air"the air is thick enough to feel"Aka says before hearing sobbing behind her.Aka looks behind her to see Donte on his knees and crying"w-What have I become"Donte says still crying.Aka runs towards him and hugs him"hey...hey it's ok I'm gonna get you out of here"Aka says before she releases the hug.Donte looks up and breaks down even more"IM SORRY IM SO SORRY I CAN'T CONTROL MYSELF RIGHT NOW AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO"Donte sobs even more but Aka reassured him"it'll be ok"she wipes his tears away"Now tell me how will we get out of here"She says before Donte points to a black door"We have to go through there but if we try...things will attack us"Donte says in a mellow tone"I tried but my powers don't work In here.Even my demon abilities are disabled and uh"Donte points upwards"Macaque is stuck up there binded with shadow chains"Donte says before Macaque yells"DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME JUST GET OUT OF HERE.ONCE YOU ESCAPE EVERYTHING WILL GO BACK TO NORMAL"Once macaque yells Aka wastes no time and Grabs Dontes hand and begins to run to the door.Once Aka got close suddenly multiple shadows Figures arise out from the ground and tries to attack Aka but she raises her hand and illuminates the mindscape as buddha's words echo in her head"I chose you for a reason Aka"She begins to rise with her white wings as they illuminate the darkness.Donte sees all of this and his eyes widen as he thinks of Buddha"She's just like him huh"The shadows disappear and Aka lands before grabbing Donte and bursting through the door and they both wake up in helheim".Donte opens his eyes slowly and sees Aka over him with a warm smile"I love ...you"Donte says shortly before he passes out again and Aka scoops him up watching him sleep"I'll heal a little now and then I'll heal the rest once I get back to the monk realm"she says to herself as Dominick limps his way to Aka"Well can you heal me right now"He says in pain as his ice armor dissipates"I'm out of power and I have a broken arm and he cracked like All my ribs.That fight took everything I had"He says while breathing heavily and falls to the ground.Aka walks over to him and checks his wounds"this'll take a while to heal so I'll just take care of your arm for now"She says as her hand illuminates with white light and Dominick gets engulfed in white light healing his arm"phew now that's better"Dominick plops down on the floor"So how are we getting out of here?"He says while looking confused at Aka"Well we can use the hole Donte made to go back to the monk realm...But we'll still need to fix it"Aka looks worried and Dominick tries to comfort her"hey hey it's going to be fine.We'll just have to worry about that later so...breathe "Aka stops panicking and Dominick calls Hyoga.Dominick places Donte on hyogas back before him and Aka climb on top of the ice dragon.Hyoga flies into the hole and they quickly find the monk realm and enter it.They all appear in front of the purple tree where Hagane,Lucas,Lana and Meru are waiting for them"THEY'RE BACK"Meru shouts before rushing to Dominick.Meru grabs Dominick's bloody face"W-What happened over there..?"Meru says in worry before everyone lays eyes on Donte who looks just as bad as Dominick.Lucas sees this and is in shock"Did Donte really get beaten that badly?"Lucas says as Dominick lets out a slight chuckle"Yea we have some explaining to do but before that let's get Donte into his room"Dominick is about to grab Donte but Aka is one step ahead of him with Donte already in her arms.Aka holds him tightly almost like she never wants to let him go"I'll go heal him in his room do.not.disturb.me."Aka says in a scary voice before flying to the temple in which their staying at.Dominick looks at Hagane and motions him to come over to him"Sooo we got a little side tracked and unfortunately we couldn't find the fragment"Dominick says as Hagane looks confused"And what did you get side tracked on?"Hagane looks at Dominick's smushed face due to Meru still examining it"Well...".while Dominick explains what had happened,Aka arrives at the temple and places Donte in their room and begins to heal him slowly but surely.Aka sheds a tear as she looks over Dontes body"I should have been faster I should have seen this coming...I'm so useless"She begins to shed lots of tears until a weak Donte slowly puts his hand on her face"D-Don't be sorry y-you did your best it's ok"Donte wipes a tear off of her face"I'm proud of you Aka"Donte then gives her a weak smile before falling back asleep.Aka sucks up her tears and cleans her face shortly after healing Donte"I should get some rest aswell.I'll need to be 110% for tomorrow since we didn't get the fragment"She says before laying on dontes chest and falling asleep."HOW COULD YOU BE SO STUPID"Hagane yells at Dominick"HOW DIDNT YOU KNOW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH HIM"Hagane goes on until Lucas stops him"Hey HEY calm down.This isn't any of our faults.All we can do now is try harder when everyone is healed OK?"Lucas looks at Dominick and meru"You two go rest up while me and Lana take care of him"He says discreetly while pointing at a irritated Hagane.Dominick and meru nod before Hyoga takes off with both of them on his back.They soon arrive to the temple and Dominick collapses and falls in merus chest.Merus face instantly goes red and she uses a heart shaped plate she made with her powers and Carries him into their room.She places Dominick in the bed"I'll ask Aka to heal you later since she doesn't wanna be disturbed so just hold on for a little longer ok?"Meru picks up Dominick's bloody hand and stares at it before her eyes widen as she gets a flashback of someone's hand looking the exact same way.She drops Dominick's hand and her breathing gets heavy,she attempts to back up in shock but Dominick almost instantly grabs her hand gently and she begins to calm down.Some may call it coincidence to what Dominick did but in reality it was Dominick's body moving on it's own because it was engraved in Dominick's body to protect meru rather it be mentally or physically.Meru calms down quickly due to Dominick's touch and slowly descends to her knees and stares at Dominick's unconscious face.She begins to play with his white hair before slowly bringing her lips close to his.Their lips only inches away from each other Meru let's out a light sigh"I....love you"She says before backing away and resting her head on the side of the bed still on the ground but it didn't matter since she was close to Dominick.Dominick opens his eyes and sees tengliu looking at him"What do you want? And why am I here right now"Dominick says before sitting up"Well your actually body is unconscious right now so your in your mindscape to talk to me"Tengliu helps Dominick up from off the ground"You know you're lucky you won out there right?"Dominick scoffs"What do you mean lucky I beat Donte fair and square"Dominick smiles but He looks at Tengilus face which is pure serious"You and me both know that if Donte was in the right state of mind...You would have lost.Hell you used everything out there even my fans(which I never gave you permission to use) but Donte didn't even use his daggers a lot."Tengliu looks at Dominick with his head down"yea...I know I need to get stronger I need to do better I need-NO I have to"Dominick says while tengliu looks at him in satisfaction"Atta boy.Now let me give you a little tip for your next battle.You see Dominick your biggest weakness in battle is your ego so whenever you feel like your about to win or that the battle is too easy...Check your bases,get a little humble"Tengliu plasters a playful smiles on her face And Dominick smiles as well"Thanks teach"Dominick says while still smiling"oh no no don't thank me yet"Tengliu the. Conjures two ice fans"We're gonna fight a little just so I can see where your at"Tengliu says before putting herself in a battle stance.Dominick smiles and conjures his scythe"well then...BRING IT ONNNNN"They both run at each other ready for to fight each other.Donte wakes up and all he sees is blackness around him.He stands up and sees Macaque standing with his arms folded"Ok... I NEED ANSWERS''Donte says angrily while walking towards Macaque''Why,why,why did that happen to me WHY did I attack my friends"Donte says as Macaque turns around with a sorrowful expression on his face"I'm sorry kid but..That's what happens when someone has my power..."Macaque then lifts his hand up and a black mist expels from it"I control shadows yes but that's not all I control.I control darkness itself that means negative emotions it can...Corrupt a person and make them into a savage.That's why I was evil for so long but I soon overcame it and learned how to control this power for the gift that it is''Macaque sits down still overcome with grief"I wouldn't blame you if you would want to sever our link after seeing that I mean who wouldn't want to"you almost never see a god cry they mostly just sit in sadness and sulk to themselves but for the first time in Donte's journey into being a god this is the first time he's actually seen a god cry.Donte sees this and kneels towards Macaque and holds out his hand"I'm sorry for yelling I was just confused.Don't worry Macaque I won't sever the link I won't let it end like this''Donte helps Macaque up"just next time let me get a heads up"Donte cracks a smile before him and the shadow god fist bump.Donte then wakes up with Aka sleeping on his chest.Donte stares at her for a while before smiling"Hey...Akaaaaaaa"Donte says while poking her cheek"Mmmmm I don't want any more cookies...."Aka says while drooling On Dontes chest a little"Akaaaaaaaaaa"Donte pokes her cheek again and she suddenly wakes up"AH"She bolts off of Dontes chest and composes herself"You didn't see anything"She says with a stern voice before she gets up and walks in the bathroom"I don't know why she act's embarrassed all of the time like we aren't dating"Donte chuckles and waits for Aka to come out of the bathroom.She walks out ten minutes later and as soon as she leaves the bathroom Donte grabs her hand and kisses her"That was a thanks for the healing..hehe"Donte says looking at Akas flushed face.Aka kisses back before walking out of the room as Donte follows her"Ok let's go gather Dominick,Meru and Lucas and head to the tree"Donte says before he knocks on Dominick and merus door but there's no response.Donte gets impatient and opens the door to see Meru sleeping on her knees with Dominick on the bed Beside her.Donte sees this and calls Aka over"look at them I can't believe neither of them figured it out yet..oh well it's just a matter of time.anyway let's wake them up"Donte motions Aka to go wake Meru up and Donte Goes to wake Dominick up by punching him in the chest"ACK OW"Dominick wakes up in pain and hears Dontes laugh"AHAHAHAH WOOO THAT FEELS GOOD"Donte yells while still laughing.Dominick attempts to get up and hit Donte but He stops in pain.Meru quickly goes to help him walk and yells at Donte"WHY THE HELL-"she gets interrupted by a beam of light that hits Dominick that heals all his injuries instantly"Thanks Aka"Dominick says kicking Donte in the side sending him out the room.Meru sees this and pouts"Well I was the one who stood by your side so where's my thanks...HMPH"She puffs her face up as she says this under her breath.Dominick hears this and places his hand on her head"Thank you Meru...truly"Dominick looks her in the eye and Meru smiles as the hearts in her eyes jump with excitement.
