‭3 John 1:11 NIV‬
Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

Evil is all around us. With the wonders of modern technology, it's easily streamed into our homes, packaged as entertainment. We're not to imitate it however.

Sadly, we get many cases of life imitating evil art. We're to imitate what is good. Goodness might not be as dramatic as evil, but we should see the quiet attraction of it.

Many apparently good people are in fact self-righteous, proud, and arrogant. We need to recognise that any goodness in us is a work of God. He is the Source of all goodness.

Lots of people have a form of godliness, but deny its power. In other words, they have an appearance of goodness, but they attribute it to themselves. By doing so, they betray their pride, arrogance and self-righteousness.

'Dear God, please help us to be holy as You are holy. Help us attribute any goodness in us to Your work in our lives. For the glory of Christ, amen'
