For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:17 (NIV)

Lots of people have a caricature of God as a grumpy old man in the sky. They assume He's out to get them. They think He's waiting to condemn them.

Thankfully, God didn't send His Son into the world to condemn the world. Having said that, if we reject the Son of God in the end, we will be condemned. We need to make our peace with Him before it's too late.

Mercifully, God's done all that is necessary to reconcile us to Himself. Christ bore Father God's condemnation upon Himself upon the cross. If we trust in Christ crucified, we can be accepted by God.

Jesus didn't come down to earth to condemn us, but to save us. Father God doesn't want to condemn us. He wants to save us through the Lord Jesus Christ.

'Father God, we're grateful that You don't want to condemn us, but have freely made salvation available to us. May we trust in You for our deliverance. In Christ's name, amen'
