Vennela's POV

I slowly started to blink, I was getting consciousness, and I processed that I was hit hard by a glass. Anyway, I don't think I could face my husband. I should he told him everything about Akshay, but we never crossed through any topics as such. Neither he asked nor I started.

"Vennela, wait let me call the doctor" he said when he noticed me, I think blinking my eyes a bit and completely opened.

"No worries, you are absolutely out of danger Vennela, just 2 more days under observation" he said. I nodded and I saw Karthik shaking his hands.

"Amma," I asked Karthik about my mother. "I will call Athaiyya," he said and brought my mom only inside the room. She was weeping continuously. "Athaiyya, please don't cry, she might get a headache if she cries," he said to my mom. I think Anirudh would never even dare to look at Karthik because, 2 times under Karthik, I collapsed.

"Karthik, Athaiyya, Mavayya?" I asked him about my in-laws, they both came and she squeezed my hands in emotion and hugged me. "Mummy careful," he said. I saw Karthik with his hands full of bruises and his underlip had a bandaid. "Doctors ekkuva sepu visitors ni unchadhu annaru. Thanaki rest kavali" he said peacefully to my parents and his. (Doctors said that she must need rest, and to not allow visitors for more time).

"Karthik, just a second" My athaiyya applied Hanuman tilak on my forehead and Karthik's too. She took dirshti (evil eye removing) of both of us. She asked us to spit on it and immediately she threw it under running water in the wash basin.

"Take care Thalli, we will come in the evening ok?" she said. (dear)

"Okay Athaiyya" I said. Karthik bid bye to everyone.

I tried closing my eyes to avoid any kind of talk. I am drowning in sleep due to the head pain and the anaesthesia. The side saline, a lot of poking in my arms, my bangles were removed, my earrings and finally, a chain was removed too. Karthik didn't try to converse about anything because he was doing something on his laptop.

It was anyways good for me that if we didn't talk, we would resolve it by small talking after a few months. I tried to put my hands on my chest, but when I tried to pull my arms, my palm was painting like damn hard. "Ahhhhh" I winced in pain.

"Vennela, are you alright? Do you want me to call the doctor?" he asked me.

"No, my palm is paining," I said.

"A lot? Or little?" he asked me.

"More than little, less than a lot," I said, he laughed. He tried to put his palms on my forehead. His cold palms were mesmerizing my forehead area, they were doing magic.

"Neppiga undha?" he asked me sitting beside me. I tried to wake up, but he held my back and made me lean on the bedrest. (is it hurting)

"Chala," I said (a lot)

"Karthik", my eyes, they've already formed a pool of tears.

Author's POV

Karthik sat back in the chair beside Vennela's hospital bed, his eyes dark with exhaustion and a hint of anger. He rubbed his bruised hands together, staring at the floor. The silence between them was thick and heavy, filled with unspoken words and unresolved emotions.

Vennela's eyes fluttered open, and she saw Karthik's tense posture. She could feel the weight of his silence and her own guilt pressing down on her. She tried to sit up, wincing as the pain shot through her body, but Karthik didn't move to help her this time.

She sighed and whispered, "Karthik..."

He finally looked up, his eyes cold and distant. "You need to rest," he said curtly, not meeting her gaze.
