Lando had been anxiously staring at his phone for the past ten minutes straight, trying desperately not to down the rest of his drink. Nobody had told him she was coming until a few minutes ago, after he'd asked Max.

"Rebecca invited her." Max looked at Lando like he was stupid. "Is that a problem or something?"

"No, no." Lando saved himself from tweaking out. "I just didn't know."

Max laughed nervously. "Alright, mate. Whatever you say." He pulled out his phone. "I'm just excited we're gonna have another celebrity in the house, this time with a little more talent than steering a wheel."

He was given glares by all the drivers in the room, which happened to be Charles, Lando, Alex and Oscar. It was a usual tradition for Lando, Max and Alex to go drinking after Silverstone since they had a few weeks of break and they all lived in London, so they ended up inviting more people as the years went on. It was a fun little celebration for their hard work. Lando knew most of the people coming tonight: usually it was drivers and their girlfriends, Max (who was Lando's best friend from childhood), Alex's friend Farris and one or two of Rebecca's friends who'd made the trip as a vacation.

Lando's eyes shot up as headlights shone through the windows. Rebecca was here with the rest of the girls. Meaning Gabrielle.

He stood and straightened his shirt before walking over the the kitchen to hover there and refill his drink. He tried his best to keep his eyes on the alcohol when he heard the front door open and some of the guys head over to see their girlfriends.

Casually, Lando looked over while bringing the cup to his lips, and thankfully he didn't take a sip because he would've spat it out.

Even though he'd already seen her outfit from her story, he was still left speechless. She wore taller heels than on race day, black pumps with straps that intertwined up her legs. Lando wondered how long it would take to unwind them. Drunk thoughts, shut up. Her hair was straightened and she wore dark black eye makeup that made her grey eyes shine in the dim house lighting. She stood by Alexandra before unhooking their arms as Charles strolled over and hugged his girlfriend. Lando couldn't help but feel bad as she was left alone in the crowd of couples.

Rebecca seemed to notice because she unwrapped herself from Carlos to hug Gabi from behind. "Ladies and gentlemen, have we forgotten we have a celebrity in the house--Gabrielle everyone!"

"Oh, shush." Gabi waved her off but Lando saw a smile creep onto her face as people went to introduce themselves.

Lando jumped when Max appeared next to him. "She's stunnin', isn't she?"

"Well she's certainly got enough money to make sure." Lando tried to sound uninterested but Max just poked him in the ribs.

He grabbed a cup and poured some vodka in it. "I'm gonna go introduce myself, I need you for emotional support."

Unwillingly, Lando allowed Max to drag him over to the center of the living room.

"Hello!" Max smiled, holding a hand out to the blonde girl. "I'm Max, welcome to my lovely home."

Gabi smiled and took his hand. "Very lovely, indeed. Thank's for having me!"

"Don't mention it." Max winked at her and motioned to Lando. "This is Lando, I'm assuming you two met already, though."

Gabrielle looked at him for the first time that night and Lando felt his cheeks burn as she glanced at his outfit, settling her eyes on his. "Yes, we met on race day. Didn't get the chance to actually speak though."

Lando opened his mouth to say something but was cut off by Max. "Well, you'll have plenty of time for that tonight!" He handed her the cup of vodka. "Cheers, you'll need it."

With that, Max left, shouting Carlos' name and leaving Lando and Gabrielle alone. Together.

It frustrated Lando that she didn't even look nervous to speak to him, to be near him while he was breaking a sweat just by smelling her perfume.

"I'm gonna be honest," Gabi said quietly, breaking their silence and glancing around at the people near her. "I don't really know anyone here tonight and I plan on getting pretty wasted, so if you see me do anything stupid I would appreciate your help."

She leaned closer to him in an attempt to make her voice unheard by the other, and Lando could smell the alcohol already on her breath.

Lando laughed, sipping his drink. "As much as I would love to offer my help, I can't say I'll be drinking any less than you."

"Oh, honey." Gabi placed her hand on his arm and Lando swore he saw stars. "I'm Polish, nobody drinks less than me."

Before Lando even had time to fully register her touch, she was dragged away by Alexandra. She turned around and mouthed "I'm sorry" as she was pulled out of Lando's reach.

"I'll talk to you later!" She called out, taking sips of her drink as she went into the bathroom with the girls.

Lando undid another button on his shirt, ignoring Max's eyebrow wiggles from across the room and prayed that the alcohol started to hit soon.
