"Are you following me?"

Lando was sitting in his hotel room, kicking back on the linen sheets of his hotel bed with his phone against his ear. Over the past three days, he'd gotten more comfortable calling Gabrielle, it seemed to be a daily thing now, however she never let the calls go too long and would end it shortly after the one hour mark. It didn't bother him much, though, he was happy to get the chance to hear her voice.

"Um, you wish." Her words were muffled through the speaker. "But out of curiosity, what makes you think that?"

"Well you seem to be everywhere I am." Lando glanced at the paparazzi photos on his laptop of Gabi arriving in Germany, merely a five hour drive from where the next Grand Prix was (Belgium).

"Oh, right, your Grand Prix." Gabi had her camera turned off and Lando mourned the loss of seeing her face. "Well, I don't care too much about your little racecars so don't compliment yourself."

Lando shut the laptop. "Ah, if only the fans knew. I can see the headlines, 'Gabrielle Bosko is a fraud, should be burnt at the stake'."

"What if I burn you at the stake?"

"I would be honored."

She laughed, and Lando realized very quickly that his only goal now in life was to make this girl laugh as much as possible. No wonder she became a singer, her voice was like silk. He'd listened to some of her songs, most of them not exactly his taste but a few had stuck with him.

"I listened to your recent album, by the way."

He heard her groan. "Of course you did. That's so embarrassing, what did you think of it?"

"It's good. I mean, I don't really listen to that genre much but I liked it." Lando ran a hand through his hair. "I liked Novacane. I liked that one a lot."

"Hm. Interesting. Most people like the popular ones. 'Sex, money, feelings, die' or 'Reminder'."

"Which was your favorite?"

Lando must've caught her off guard with that question because she fell silent, clearly thinking about what to say.

"No ones ever asked me that before, I'd have to think about it." Silence again. "I'll get back to you."

Lando sat forward, deciding it was now or never to ask the question he'd called her for. "I was thinking."

"Good to know you can do that." Even her snarky comments made him blush, it was sickening.

"Fuck off." Lando inhaled. "I was thinking about swinging by Germany on Monday. After the Grand Prix, I mean. I want to...I want to see you again. Watch your concert."

This silence was far more deafening that the first. Lando wondered if he'd made the wrong decision, if he'd said too much or made too big of a move. I mean, he'd only known this girl for three weeks, and a five hour drive didn't exactly scream 'casual'. But Lando didn't want this to be casual, he didn't casually think of her all the time, or casually imagine introducing her to his family. He wanted something bigger with her, but would that kind of notion scare her away?

"You could do that," she finally said, her voice soft and quieter. "You could bring friends, I could set you up in the VIP area."

Lando fist-pumped silently before maintaining his composure. "Wow, sounds fancy. I'm sure Carlos would be down."

"Yeah. I'd...like that. For you to come, I mean. To my show, come to my show not just...for fucks sake."

Lando's cheeks flushed and he chuckled awkwardly. When did the hotel room get so hot?

"Yeah, well that's great then. Just send me the information when you get it." He was trying very hard not to sound too enthusiastic about it, but it was like she'd just agreed to marry him. Now he had something to look forward to.

The call went silent again and Lando wasn't sure what to say. He was seeing her, and he was more than excited but what was she thinking right now?

"Pyramids."

"What?" Lando furrowed his eyebrows.

"Pyramids is my favorite song. In the album."

He smiled and queued the song in his phone. "Well make sure to play it on Monday then, yeah?"

For some reason, he had a feeling she was smiling too.
