The boat was silent, save only for the sounds of waves and wind cascading around her. Gabi's dress was rustled and folded in places it shouldn't be, and her heels were hanging from her elbow.

Lando's hands were everywhere, rediscovering parts of her that he must've forgotten by the way he was relentlessly feeling her. Gabi bit her lip while they slipped through the dark hallway and into a room--she didn't know if it was his or hers but she didn't care. All that mattered were his hands and his lips and his tongue.

She'd missed him so much.

None of their friends noticed her pull Lando out of the club when she saw how fucked up he was, thankfully.

Her dress was tied in knots in the back, so there was no hope for Lando as he desperately tried to pry it off, instead opting to keep the dress on, much to his disappointment, and leave the rest to his memory. They were stuck in a hurricane of passion, hands and legs intertwined as they tried to keep quiet but to little avail--Gabi hated how easily Lando could make her moan in the silence of the ocean.

Her fingers found their place in his hair, tugging on his brown locks the way she knew he liked while Lando left hickeys all over her neck and shoulder-blades (Gabi wanted to scold him because she knew how it would look tomorrow, but after six months of nothing, she could hardly say no to the man).

The back of her knee slammed into the bedframe, causing her to groan in pain.

Lando's lips were still pressed against hers as he chuckled. "Shhh, someone will hear."

"No one's here, idiot." Gabi leaned back, dropping to sit on the bed as Lando crouched in front of her, lips red and cheeks flushed as his messy curls decorated his head.

In truth, Gabi had drank too much as well, but by the time they got to the club she opted for water instead of drinks. Getting plastered in loud clubs with people she didn't quite trust yet wasn't a great idea, considering her emotional state. When she saw Lando in the middle of the dance floor--his shirt almost completely unbuttoned and a familiar, dazed over expression on his face, Gabi couldn't help but feel pity. His drunk words on the sidewalk outside shifted something inside of her and even though she told herself that he was lying and drunk, when he kissed her she didn't pull back. When his hands slid up her waist like they used to, she didn't shove him away. And when he grabbed her hands and pulled her with him toward the dock, she smiled and followed.

"What are you thinking?"

She blinked and looked back at Lando.

Gabi spoke quietly, hardly a whisper. "I want to believe you, I do. I missed you. It won't...go back to normal, y'know? Not for a while. But...I missed you."

His green eyes glowed in the darkness, illuminated by the shine of the moon through the cabin window. He looked like a god, crouching in front of her with his flushed lips and perfect biceps resting on his knees.

Lando leaned forward, kissing her gently in the darkness, his fingertips brushing against her chin as the stubble on his cheeks tickled her.

When they pulled apart, Gabi felt a yawn slip from her lips and before she knew it, Lando was pulling her further onto the bed and wrapping his covers around her as he slipped onto the other side. Covered in the duvet, his arms wrapped around her waist, nuzzling his head into her chest while Gabi rested on his curls. He smelled like the sea.

"I wasn't with anyone else after you left." Lando's voice cut through the silence like a knife. "I couldn't--not after I had you."

Gabi swallowed, startled by his words. "Neither was I.

"I thought you would. I hoped you would, if I'm being honest. You deserved someone better than me--someone who could treat you better than me." Lando's voice was sleepy and beginning to slur together. "I wouldn't have blamed you."

Silence.

"I don't think I've ever wanted someone the way I want you." Gabi felt Lando's breath hitch as she said that. "I don't think I'll ever want someone else, which is the terrifying part of loving you."

He pulled her closer to him, eyelashes tickling her sternum as his hands settled around her waist.

She couldn't tell if he was even awake, but as the boat rocked back and forth, and Lando's breathing became steady, Gabi felt herself slowly drifting off into the sleep, unaware of the listening ears pressed against the adjoining wall next-door.
