Aegon was unsure how this happened. How he had ended up locked in his old chambers in the Red Keep. He had tried to enter the secret halls but had realised he did not know anyway out of the keep through the halls.
He had promised not to land his dragon and did not but he had been knocked from the skies by a contraption that he had never seen before. Sunfyre had flown away back to Dragonstone after assuring he was uninjured.
Aegon had ordered her not to remain with him knowing she would be caged and killed if she stayed with her rider.
He had been in the keep for a day already and no one had come to visit him to his great surprise. Aegon thought he would have been killed already, Robert had always hated him so he was surprised to say the least.
He had been given water on his arrival and his stomach was starting to eat itself with hunger.
What was his mother thinking? She was surely going mad. Sighing Aegon drops his head as he lent against the stone pillar, he takes several deep breathes trying to keep his tears at bay as he groans as he rubs his eye tilting his head back against the pillar.
"Brother?" comes a voice from the doorway that makes Aegon frown as he straightens to see his younger brother Cassian watching him from the doorway a hand on his sword that makes Aegon feel naked as his own sword was taken from him.
After a silence of Aegon looking his younger brother over he sighs as he leans his head against the pillar again "Why are you here?"
"I have come to say that the King in his wisdom, as allowed you to keep your life if you sever all loyalty to your father and acknowledge Robert Baratheon as your rightful King."
Cassian's words make Aegon scoffs as he chuckles with a shake of his head as he looks at his common born looking younger brother.
"Are you in jest?" Aegon asks "Are you serious? Have you hurt your head brother?"
Cassian shakes his head as he looks Aegon over as he does the same before Cassian speaks.
"You have no idea the sacrifices I had to make to make sure my father the King did not send you to Ser Ilyan upon your arrival," Cassian tells his brother who shakes his head as he looks Aegon over as he looks back at him with empty dead eyes.
"You are so considerate little brother," Aegon scoffs as he shakes his head "So considerate in your effort to make your father seem a good King and not the kinslayer he is."
"Aegon-" Cassian starts with a disappointed tone that makes Aegon furious as he
"No, I will not betray my family or my father the rightfully King," Aegon glares at his brother who shakes his head as he looks his older brother over.
"Then you will have to face the consequences Aegon," Cassian bows his head as he turns and leaves the chambers as Aegon glares after him.
"Mother will have her revenge for this Cassian!" Aegon yells after his younger brother as he throws the cup at the back of Cassian's head which makes the Kingsguard run to him and force him to his knees as Cassian turns to look at his brother who glares up at him with a cold smile on his face.
"You are signed your death warrant brother," Cassian tells his oldest brother who smirks with an unbothered shrug that worries Cassian slightly as he looks Aegon over.
"Then I shall not go unavenged! We do not cower in fear and the words of my House are not fickle."
