Hearing Robert was to be sentenced to death brought no peace to Johanna's mind. He had harmed her children, her first born son.

The son that had been a miracle after so many losses, the first three years of her marriage had been losses so when Aegon had come to her she vowed that he would know no harm.

And Robert Baratheon had made her break that promise and she wanted him to pay for it, really pay for it not just have a quick execution by Ser Ilyn that was promised to him by her husband who continued to sentence  the lords that had been loyal to Robert during the Uprising of Dragons as it was being called already by the singers and songwriters.

Johanna was finally brought back to her senses when Cassian was called and forced to his knees in front of Daemon who looked at his wife who looked back at him before turning to look at her son that looked back at her with Robert's eyes and the Baratheon hair.

"Cassian of House Baratheon," Daemon announces and the hall falls silent curious about how this was going to go.

"You are charged with the following; Harbouring the Crown Prince Aegon the Sixth of His Name, aiding in his captivity and neglect. Along with the endangerment of half a million souls for your continued support of the False King Robert Baratheon-"

"My father," Cassian spits at Daemon with a cold glare finally looking away from Johanna who looks at him with no emotion in her eyes. "Was the rightful King by conquest."

"'Was'?" Daemon asks curiously with a raised brow as he leans against the armrest of the throne as he leans forwards slightly "Do you care to explain your words?"

"My Father was the rightful King by reason of conquest, he fought your family and was victorious thus he was the rightful King."

Daemon nods as he mulls over his step-son's words before smiling slightly with a mocking look at Cassian who glares back at him.

"With that reason," Daemon says to the deathly silent hall as they watch with bated breath as Cassian looks back at his mother who looks him over silently.

"I am the rightful King, I fought your father who was-admittedly the crowned King at the time as was victorious... do you cause to argue with my reason?"

Cassian glares at Daemon who smirks back at him as Johanna looks down at her hands. She was in two minds, the first was that it was her son on trial and the second was the fact she did not seem to care.

She was never close to Cassian who had always been his father's son, always trailing Robert who humiliated her every chance he got which Cassian saw yet still chose his father over her.

Yes, he was her son but the only connection they seemed to have was that she had birthed him and he called her mother. But he only did it when it suited him, never out of any genuine affection for her.

Also she had never bonded with him, he had been taken away as soon as he was born to be checked by the Maesters and when he was given back to her all she saw was Robert Baratheon and with the memory of the war so fresh in her mind she could not bare to look at him.

So, he was a stranger with a familiar face to her.

"I hereby recognise the King Daemon Targaryen the First of His Name as Rightful King of the Seven Kingdoms by the right of conquest."

Daemon nods pleased as he leans back into the throne as he looks him over before waving him away with out a care as the two guards lift Cassian by his arms and walk him out of the great hall.
