Daemon looks around as Aegon walks into the King's chambers with the crown in his hands. Aegon had been the regent of the Kingdoms while Daemon looked himself away in his chambers mourning the loss of his wife and Queen.

"Father?"

Daemon looks around to stare at his heir who looks back at him with a raised brow as he looks around the chambers that have been destroyed with little light entering through the windows that have been covered by thick cloth.

The chambers had become musty and the air could almost be seen with the smoke that came from the fireplace as well as the candles that littered the room.

"Father?" Aegon tries again to get a response from his father who just stares at him.

"Where are Tommen and Ellyn?" Daemon's voice is husky thick with shed tears that seem to have caught in his throat that he clears plainfully.

"Ellyn has returned to her Lord Husband," Aegon tells him before he sighs as he walks over to the window and parts the thick cloth unable to stand the smell. He breathes in the welcome fresh air before turning to look at his father who puts a hand to his eyes unused to the light.

"And Tommen?" Daemon asks as he blinks violently as his eyes finally become used to the sunlight and he lowers his hand.

"My brother seems," Aegon sighs before continuing "My brother is in a similar state to you, your grace. He has locked himself in his chambers with no one allowed to enter bar a maid."

Daemon nods as he mulls over his last remaining son's words before croaking out "It is my fault."

Aegon blinks confused as he stares at his father who bows his head as he falls onto a chair beside him.

"Father?"

"I said she tore this family apart as was going to send her to Dragonstone..." Daemon's eyes fill with tears as he continues "Johanna, the last thing she heard from me was that she was the ruin of our house."

Daemon bursts into sobs as he buries his head into his hand. Aegon watches his father before walking over to him and laying a hand onto his shoulder.

"Mother would not want  you to blame yourself," he whispers as he kneels in front of the King who looks at him with red eyes.

"How would you know?"

"Because I know-knew my mother," Aegon stumbles over his tenses "She hated people blaming themselves even though she did it more than anyone else. Mother would have wanted you to live, not drown in self pity."

Daemon stares up at his son who looks back at him with a determined look in his eye which makes Daemon sigh as he nods.

Everyone watches shocked at the sight of their King as he walks to the Iron Throne which Aegon stands from, bowing his head that holds Aegon I's crown as his father walks past and seats himself on the throne.

Daemon looked terrible. He was thinner, painfully thin with his hair limp and greasy against his head which he had chopped short. No longer did it fall below his shoulders, now it barely brushed his shoulders.

He had tied it from his face in the hopes that it would not look dirty but it did. There was no denying it as he looked over the great hall that was full of lords and ladies who looked back at him with wide eyes.

With a glance to Rhaenyra who smiles at him, Aegon walks up the steps and takes the crown from his head and places it onto his father's own head as he steps back he yells.

"Long Live the King!"
