As we delved into our class assignment, the clock ticked away, marking an hour and a half of fruitless searching for a simple Egyptian traditional meal to prepare. Kyle's eyelids drooped, his energy waning. I noticed his fatigue and asked with concern, "Kyle, what's wrong? You seem exhausted."

He replied in a tired tone, "I'm fine, just worn out from all the work."

I tried to reassure him, "But we've just started! Let's find a meal and prepare it tomorrow, since we won't have school. It'll be a relaxing weekend."

Kyle nodded, his eyes half-closed, and yawned. As he raised his arms, his shirt lifted, revealing a glimpse of his belly button and lower skin. My heart skipped a beat. I couldn't help but think, "Is this boy perfection incarnate, or am I already smitten, blinded by his charms?

As we persisted with the project, Kyle's exhaustion became increasingly apparent. His eyes drooped, and his movements slowed, as if he hadn't slept in days. But finally, after an extensive search, we stumbled upon a simple traditional Egyptian meal to prepare - Koshari.

"I think we'll go with this," I said, pointing to the laptop screen. "It seems easy to make, and we have most of the ingredients."

Kyle responded in a tired tone, "Okay...I guess we're done here."

I suggested, "Let me go get us something to drink and eat. This research wasn't easy, and you can rest on my bed while you wait. The plastic chairs are uncomfortable."

As I stood up to head to the kitchen, Kyle's eyes had already closed, and he had surrendered to sleep on my bed. I couldn't help but notice the rare, unique beauty of his sleeping face. It was as if I had stumbled upon a precious gem.

I placed the snacks and drinks on the table and approached Kyle, but my attraction to him made me cautious. I didn't want to seem awkward or invasive, so I lay down beside him, keeping a safe distance.

As I lay beside Kyle, exhaustion caught up with me, and I drifted off to sleep. Two hours passed, and I woke up to find Kyle's arms wrapped around my waist, his hands sending electric sparks to my heart. He was still asleep, and I didn't want to disturb him, but his tight grip made my pulse race. I tried to move, but he pulled me closer, his embrace tightening like a vice. I was trapped, my personal space invaded, and my heart racing like a runaway train.

Just as I thought I'd suffocate, Kyle stirred, his eyes fluttering open. "Shawn," he called out in a calm tone, his voice a gentle breeze on a summer day.

"Yes," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper, aware that the situation was far from ideal.

Kyle's expression turned worried. "How many hours have I been sleeping?"

"Two hours," I replied, my voice steady.

"Oh my..." Kyle muttered, releasing his grip on me and standing up to grab his bag. "I'm late. I have to go."

I sensed a hint of panic in his voice. "What's wrong, Kyle?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant.

"Don't worry about it. I'm just running late," he replied, his eyes avoiding mine as he headed for the door.

I felt a pang of concern. "But it's not that late. Maybe I should walk you home?"

Kyle's response was curt. "Don't worry about it. Have a great night."

He walked out the door, leaving me wondering why he was always so evasive when it came to his home life. The awkwardness between us was palpable, but Kyle seemed to brush it off, leaving me with more questions than answers.
