It was morning, and they were approaching Daegu. Taehyung stirred in his sleep, and as soon as he opened his eyes, he felt a sharp pain in his head. He winced, clutching his head with one hand, and glanced to his side to see Jungkook driving.
"What the hell happened to me?" Taehyung groaned.
"You drank so much yesterday," Jungkook replied with a chuckle.
"Ugh, my head feels like it's been used as a drum set," Taehyung muttered.
Jungkook reached into the glove compartment and pulled out a small bottle of painkillers. "Here, take this. It might help."
"Thanks," Taehyung said, shaking out a pill. "Please tell me I didn't embarrass myself too much."
Jungkook laughed, glancing at Taehyung. "Let's just say you gave a performance no one will forget. Especially that dance on the bar."
Taehyung looked horrified. "Oh god, why didn't you stop me?"
"Seriously? I tried to stop you, but you were on another planet," Jungkook said with a mischievous grin.
Taehyung groaned, swallowing the painkiller. "Great. My head hurts, and now I have to live with that knowledge. Thanks, Jungkook."
Jungkook just laughed, shaking his head, relieved that Taehyung didn't remember their steamy kiss from the previous night. If Taehyung had remembered, Jungkook wouldn't be laughing so easily. Deciding it was best to keep what had happened at the club a secret, Jungkook resolved to keep it to himself, believing that revealing it would only cause harm and no good would come from it.
It wasn't Taehyung's first time drinking yesterday. He had indulged before, back when Jimin used to sneak wine or beer into the mansion. Taehyung had always been a light drinker, so he only drank with Jimin, someone he trusted deeply. He tried to recall the events of last night, but his mind remained a frustrating blank. Instead, he had to rely on what Jungkook told him.
Taehyung knew his alcohol tolerance was poor, yet he still drank last night. The joy of reuniting with Yoongi overwhelmed him, compelling him to drink in celebration.
Following Taehyung's instructions, Jungkook drove the car to the top of a lush, green mountain. When they arrived, the car came to a gentle stop, and the two stepped out. The beauty of the place was almost overwhelming.
The sky stretched out in a vast, unblemished expanse of blue, a perfect canvas of tranquility. Down the hill, Yoongi's hotel SDL is nestled like a hidden gem amidst the sea of trees. The air was crisp and fresh, carrying the sweet scent of pine and wildflowers. The gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze created a soothing symphony, harmonizing with the distant chirping of birds.
The rolling hills were dotted with colorful blossoms, painting the landscape with splashes of red, yellow, and purple.
Taehyung stepped ahead, looking down at a hotel below. Jungkook stood behind him, observing quietly.
"Look, that's Yoongi Hyung," Taehyung said to Jungkook, pointing at a man's back.
"Yoongi hyung! Hyung!" he shouted excitedly. "He can't hear me," he added with a hint of frustration. Yoongi remained unaware of their presence, his back turned, and the distance was too great for Taehyung's voice to reach him.
Turning to Jungkook with a radiant smile, Taehyung was filled with happiness and eagerness to go to Yoongi.
"Come on!" Taehyung said it cheerfully.
"Bye, Tae," Jungkook replied, a small smile playing on his lips.
"What?" Taehyung asked, meeting Jungkook's gaze.
"Always stay like this," Jungkook said with a heavy heart, emotions swirling within him. He didn't want to say something he would regret later on.
"At least meet him," Taehyung urged. He wanted to introduce Jungkook to Yoongi, convinced they would become good friends. After coming this far, he thought it was only right that Jungkook should meet Yoongi.
Jungkook took a deep breath and stepped closer to Taehyung, taking both of his hands in his own. He looked at Taehyung intently, as if trying to etch every detail into his memory. This moment marked the end of their journey together. It was the last time he would gaze upon his beautiful angel-not his angel, but someone else's. A wave of sadness washed over him, and he struggled to hold back his tears. His eyes glistened as he looked at Taehyung with deep affection. No more long conversations, no more laughter and giggles, no more adventures-just memories now.
"Tae," he said, smiling with his signature bunny teeth. He took a step back, releasing Taehyung's hands, and fought hard not to cry in front of him.
Taehyung, sensing that Jungkook was about to say something important, looked at him with curiosity and concern.
"Take care," Jungkook finally said. He turned away, a smile lingering on his lips even as tears welled up in his eyes.
Taehyung watched Jungkook's retreating figure, confused and saddened by his sudden departure. Yet, he didn't dwell on it for long. He turned and ran towards Yoongi's hotel, while Jungkook walked in the opposite direction.
Jungkook's heart ached with every step he took away from Taehyung. His mind was a whirlwind of emotions-love, sorrow, and an overwhelming sense of farewell. The memories of their shared moments played like a film reel in his mind. As he walked away, the tears he had been holding back finally began to fall, silently marking the end of a cherished chapter in his life.
