Forced to be together for the sake of the public eye, Jung Wooyoung and Choi San have been wrapped up in a scheme to bring their parent's million dollar companies together. Wooyoung hates San, and San hates Wooyoung. The arranged relationship was on...
The morning came with a rush of warmth, cast in by the rising sun and the absence of clouds. The weather was peaceful today, or so it seemed to be. There hadn't been the looming chance of rain that would come to ruin such tranquility, but either way, Mingi wouldn't mind.
He had always found some sort of calamity within storms, since it had felt like a symphony for his own life. The darkening clouds, a subtle rumble of thunder, sparks of lightning and the downpour of rain; all followed by a sudden calm and the chirping of birds. A rapture of darkness that always preceded the embrace of levity, providing a moment of peace after a swell of negativity.
Mingi didn't wish for his life to be so corrupt, but he couldn't help but feel as if the world was out to get him, crashing the things he chose to chase after, making everything feel rather insurmountable. But today, caressed by the morning sun and the light traffic on the street nearby, Mingi found himself feeling as if he had a hold on the things trying to pull him back, trying to coax him back into a place of utter darkness.
He twirls his keys in his hand, humming slightly, passing people he hadn't seen before as he makes his way down a familiar stretch of pavement, walking closer and closer to a place that he'd poured his entire heart into. The gym, a common place of comfort for not only him, but a multitude of others, now having rebranded slightly with new equipment and a fresh layer of paint. The windows were decorated for the incoming holiday, the lights outside repaired and replaced with new bulbs, the overhang washed and cleaned, ridding itself of the grime that had accumulated over the years.
It was simple, smaller changes at first. It began with changing a few pieces of equipment before painting the walls, rebranding his logo, then updating the televisions and speakers within the gym itself. He was able to refinance, negotiate the terms of his lease and to extend the area of public recreation, slowly beginning to provide a higher capacity of people thanks to a surprising increase of clientele.
Yunho, a forever saint in all of this, sat with Mingi day and night, discussing possible ideas, talking through hardships, bringing by surprise take-out for a moment to relax amongst the chaos. Mingi was overly thankful for Yunho, considering the tumultuous path their relationship had embarked on as of late, even if they were only just friends right now.
Romance never came easily to Mingi, as he feared completely trusting his walls to be let down. His heart, having been shattered by his father as a child, was forever glued into being within a fragile state, too afraid to allow himself to bleed out for anyone else. He didn't want to fully trust anyone, as the world seemed too cruel to remain oblivious to. But, in being with Yunho, Mingi began to see the world a little differently.
