Time passes by in a haze of levity.

Now happily married, Wooyoung found himself in his kitchen, sitting down on the countertop with a mug of warmed coffee between his palms, staring out of the windows that lay ahead of him, basking in the view that came with living in Jeju Island.

Having moved away from Seoul and built their dream house, Wooyoung and San originally chose to move to Busan, but having not yet given up on their leased beach home, they rather decided to move to a secluded part of Jeju Island, a part of the island that San's father had bought privately, securing them away on private property, well out of the way of traffic and prying eyes.

Their home was modernly built, landscaped with lush flora and accented with a large, radiant koi pond, one of which Wooyoung catered to and fed every morning. The home was black and white in the majority of its details, but Wooyoung livened up the space with hues of navy and gold, a subtle toss of orange or a lighter blue seen within pillows, blankets, or even paintings.

The home was quiet this morning, save for the rambunctious blur of noises coming from their lively pets. Having already fed Byeol and Bam, their new rescue dog, Wooyoung decided to enjoy the calamity of a sunny day, settled alone in the kitchen, sighing contently to himself, watching the waves crash against the shore of the nearby beach.

San was on a morning run, as he usually was on the weekends, leaving the comfort of his home to embark on a moment of peace, leaving Wooyoung to chase after his own solitude before smothering his husband with what he referred to as aggressive affection. San was always willing to allow Wooyoung to express his affections in whatever manner he saw fit, and though he playfully complained, Wooyoung knew that he truthfully never minded it.

Suddenly, the patter of small paws interrupts Wooyoung's train of thought, turning to his right to see Byeol jumping up on the counter, a soft mew coming from her quietly, surely in greeting. Wooyoung smiles, carefully holding his coffee in one hand while extending the other, letting Byeol rub her face against the back of his free hand. She was purring quietly, a soft rumble that brushed against Wooyoung's hand as she continued to rub against him, her tail slightly flicking with every movement.

Bam then rounded the corner, his head tilted with his floppy ears sitting upright, though slightly bent, his eyes large and brown as he looked up at Byeol, his tongue lulled out of the side of his mouth. Wooyoung glances at Bam, raising a brow curiously as the dog proceeds to sit down, his tail wagging quietly against the floor. His fur was all black, save for the specks of white that appeared on some of his toes and the tip of his tail, though long in some places and short in others. Wooyoung wasn't sure what type of dog he was, but having rescued him, they couldn't be too sure of anything other than his age. The shelter assumed him to be just over a year old, considering his size and happy-go-lucky personality, but otherwise, he was a pure mystery. Wooyoung and San instantly fell in love with him, and somehow, so did Byeol.
