Three weeks pass by in a haze.
Time seemed to be an inescapable conduit, one of which Wooyoung feels reeling him forth even more, scattering his thoughts as he stands idly, watching the motions of the universe simply pass in a hue of blurs and colors that he can hardly distinguish.
The trial was already underway, completely obsessed over by the media and the people who were now estranged from the Jung family, raving over the details and soaking in every single bout of information that was given to the public. Felix and Hyunjin were working tirelessly to keep their hold over Wonsik, to uncover every single detail that lay within the code of Jung Technologies.
Wooyoung sat by and watched, clinging to San as the trial covered most of the headlines within social media and the news, leaving Wooyoung to once again abandon his phone in fear of seeing a headline he'd be unable to ignore.
This wasn't just some crime case of high publicity. These were the remnants of his family, the people he believed cared for him the most and raised him, and most importantly, they were the people who he thought were his parents. But now, knowing otherwise, Wooyoung feels torn in not knowing what to truly feel, where a part of his heart longed to try and understand for the sake of his aunt, while another part of him simply wanted revenge, wanted some sort of justice and peace, where he ached to see Wonsik behind metal bars.
The trial felt like an endless endeavor, where certain aspects of financial fraud would come to play, and vaguely could Wooyoung tell that the jury hadn't been the slightest interested in the things that Wonsik did beneath his wife's nose. Part of Wooyoung wished that Jung Technologies would simply fail, to sink beneath the corporate sea of financial struggles and lack of employees, but that really was not the case whatsoever. The company was thriving beneath all of it's newly found limelight, and though Wooyoung wished to not deal with the company in the absence of his aunt and uncle, he supposed that it would set Beomgyu up for success, so he too, wouldn't fall victim to the schemes of Wonsik and his wife.
Wooyoung would attend every trial, sitting with San near the back of the crowd, observing Wonsik's behavior as the trail kept unfolding and peeling back piece by piece, diving deeper into the cusp of everything that was hidden behind a feeble facade. The prosecutors and the defense bickered and tossed terms back and forth to one another, all overseen by the judge, trying to convey their side of the story, but from where Wooyoung was sitting, he truly had no idea if the jury would see Wonsik to be the cruel person that he truly was.
