"Are you ready for this?" San asks, watching from the doorway of their en-suite.
Wooyoung adjusts his suit blazer, chewing on his lower lip for a moment before glancing upright, a breath of unease passing through his lips before he nods, glancing down at his hands.
"As ready as I can be," Wooyoung mutters, looking up again, catching's San's gaze in the reflection of the mirror. "What time are we supposed to meet Hyunjin and Felix again?"
"In a half-hour," San says after briefly checking his silver watch, pulling his sleeve back over the device as his eyes meet Wooyoung's again. "Are you sure you're okay? We only just found out the news yesterday, and you've been home barely a day–"
"I can't delay the inevitable," Wooyoung mumbles with a breath, smoothing out the button-up beneath his blazer. "It's. . . I knew that something like this was coming, San, I just didn't expect it to turn out this way. It feels surreal. Wonsik killed my mother and father. Who the hell does that?"
"We don't know what forced him to be this way. It's already known to us that he never intended for this to be more than a secret. The moment that you found out that he was really your uncle, I could see it in his face. He knew he fucked up, and big time."
"I want to know how the police uncovered all of this, how Hyunjin found any of this out–" Wooyoung pauses, glancing down, steadying his hands as they grip the edge of the marble countertop in front of him, acting as a means to ground the growing turmoil nesting itself deep into the fabric of his very being. "Was I really blind this whole time? How did I not even know that Beomgyu's name wasn't within the Jung family tree? How did I not know his name was Choi Beomgyu?"
"They're manipulative, love. They wanted to hide everything from you, have you signed over so they could control every asset beneath your nose. You didn't know that you had all this power over the company."
"I wish I would've known. I would've done a lot of things differently," Wooyoung starts, leaning into his hands that were still holding onto the marbled edge, turning his head to look at San. "Would've started with marrying you. We never would've had to walk away from that apartment, from those memories, hiding away in what felt like plain sight considering that Sun-hee still tried to break us apart."
Wooyoung pauses, his eyes glancing down at the tiled floor before meeting San's gaze once more. "But. . . another part of me is thankful for everything that happened. It feels as if it was supposed to align like this, so I knew the truth, so I'd be able to heal and be able to move past everything with you. To make amends with Yeonjun, to be amicable with Beomgyu, to see Yeosang thrive in a new job and to see Seonghwa happier with himself and the world he created. But, also for you, Sannie. . . to have you here with me, without any doubts or fears. It feels like everything is coming full circle, you know?"
