Y/N Scamander walked through the halls of Hogwarts, her eyes wide with wonder. It was her first day at the castle, having transferred from Ilvermorny for her fifth year. Hogwarts was everything she had imagined it to be—majestic, mysterious, and full of life. She felt a flutter of excitement as she explored the corridors, her constant companion, a tiny Bowtruckle named Twig, perched on her shoulder.
Unlike most students, Y/N had a natural affinity for magical creatures, a trait she inherited from her famous father, Newt Scamander. She wore her Hufflepuff robes proudly, a reflection of her gentle and loyal nature. With her wild, untamed hair and her clothes adorned with patches and charms, Y/N exuded a free-spirited, almost hippie-like aura. Everywhere she went, she was followed by a variety of small creatures, much to the amazement of her fellow students.
As she made her way to the Great Hall for breakfast, she noticed the curious glances and whispered conversations around her. Hogwarts students were not used to seeing someone so unabashedly connected to nature, and Y/N's presence was like a breath of fresh air—or a gust of wind through a dense forest.
At the Gryffindor table, the Marauders—James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew—were engaged in their usual banter. However, their attention was quickly diverted when they saw Y/N enter the hall.
"Who's that?" James asked, his eyes widening with curiosity.
"Must be the new Hufflepuff," Sirius replied, his gaze following her as she walked past. "She's got a Bowtruckle on her shoulder. That's not something you see every day."
"She seems... interesting," Remus mused, intrigued by her unique appearance and the way she seemed to draw the creatures to her.
Peter nodded, a hint of awe in his voice. "I heard she's Scamander's daughter. You know, the guy who wrote 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'."
"Really?" James's interest was piqued even further. "We have to meet her."
As Y/N sat down at the Hufflepuff table, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning around, she found herself face to face with James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter.
"Hi," James said with a friendly smile. "I'm James Potter. These are my friends, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. You're the new transfer student, right?"
Y/N smiled back, her eyes twinkling with warmth. "Yes, I am. Y/N Scamander. It's nice to meet you."
"Scamander, huh?" Sirius said, leaning closer. "Any relation to Newt Scamander?"
Y/N nodded, her smile widening. "He's my dad."
"That's incredible!" Peter exclaimed, clearly impressed. "Do you know a lot about magical creatures?"
"A bit," Y/N replied modestly, though her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "I've been around them my whole life. They're amazing creatures, every one of them."
Remus, who had been quietly observing, spoke up. "What brings you to Hogwarts?"
Y/N's expression grew thoughtful. "My dad wanted me to experience different magical cultures and schools. He thought Hogwarts would be a good fit for me, and I've always wanted to come here."
James nodded appreciatively. "Well, welcome to Hogwarts. If you need anything or want a tour, just let us know."
"Thank you," Y/N said sincerely. "I'd love that."
As the days passed, Y/N quickly became a fixture at Hogwarts. Her love for magical creatures and her kind, eccentric nature endeared her to many, including the Marauders. They found themselves increasingly fascinated by her, drawn to her like moths to a flame.
One sunny afternoon, the Marauders invited Y/N to join them by the lake. She accepted eagerly, bringing along a small cage containing a pair of Nifflers, much to their delight.
"These little guys are so cute," Sirius said, watching as the Nifflers playfully dug into the ground, searching for shiny objects.
"They have a knack for finding treasure," Y/N explained, her eyes shining with affection. "Just make sure to keep any valuables out of their reach."
James laughed as one of the Nifflers tried to grab his watch. "Noted. So, Y/N, what's it like having Newt Scamander as a dad?"
Y/N thought for a moment before answering. "It's wonderful. He's so passionate about magical creatures and the natural world. I've learned so much from him, not just about creatures, but about kindness and understanding as well."
Remus, who had been listening intently, smiled. "It sounds like you've had an amazing upbringing."
"I have," Y/N agreed, her gaze drifting to the lake. "But it's also nice to be here, meeting new people and experiencing new things."
The group fell into a comfortable silence, watching the Nifflers and enjoying the peaceful afternoon. Y/N felt a sense of belonging she hadn't expected to find so quickly. The Marauders had welcomed her with open arms, and she was grateful for their friendship.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the grounds, Y/N turned to her new friends. "Thank you for making me feel so welcome here. Hogwarts already feels like home."
James grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Well, with us around, you'll never have a dull moment. Welcome to the Marauders' world, Y/N."
Y/N laughed, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. She had a feeling that her time at Hogwarts was going to be full of adventure, laughter, and, most importantly, friendship.
