Tw mentions of alcohol
The late autumn wind whipped through the trees, rustling the remaining leaves as Y/N tightened their scarf and glanced around the crowded street. The village pub was spilling out with laughter and songs, but Y/N’s mind was elsewhere—focused on the task at hand.

Remus Lupin had never been one to drink heavily, but tonight was different. Y/N had found him slumped over a table, empty pint glasses strewn around, his usually composed demeanor replaced by a tipsy smile and unfocused eyes.

"Come on, Remus, let's get you home," Y/N said softly, slipping an arm around his waist to help him stand.

Remus laughed, the sound uncharacteristically loud. "Y/N! My hero," he slurred, leaning heavily against them. "Did you know... did you know you have the best timing?"

Y/N smiled, though it was tinged with concern. "Yes, I know. Now, let's go. It's freezing out here."

Navigating the cobblestone streets was no easy feat with Remus stumbling beside them. His laughter echoed off the old buildings, drawing curious glances from late-night stragglers. Y/N kept a firm grip, gently steering him away from any potential hazards.

"You're always looking out for me," Remus muttered, his voice growing softer. "I don't say it enough, but... thank you."

Y/N's heart warmed at his words. "You don't have to thank me, Remus. That's what friends are for."

They finally reached the small cottage Remus called home, nestled at the edge of the village. The moon cast a silvery glow over the garden, highlighting the worn path to the door. Y/N fished the key from Remus's pocket, carefully unlocking the door and guiding him inside.

Once inside, Y/N helped Remus to the sofa, easing him down gently. "Stay here, I'll get you some water."

Remus nodded, his eyes drooping as he fought to stay awake. Y/N returned quickly, pressing a glass into his hands and making sure he drank.

"You're too good to me, Y/N," Remus murmured, the exhaustion overtaking his earlier mirth. "I don't deserve you."

Y/N crouched beside him, brushing a stray lock of hair from his forehead. "You deserve all the kindness in the world, Remus. Now, get some rest. I'll be here if you need anything."

Remus's eyes fluttered shut, and within moments, he was asleep, his breathing steady and calm. Y/N watched over him for a while, ensuring he was comfortable before settling into a nearby chair.

As the night deepened and the wind howled outside, Y/N felt a sense of peace. No matter what challenges lay ahead, they knew they would always be there for each other. And that was enough.
