Y/n had been looking forward to spending some quality time with her boyfriends, James Potter and Regulus Black. She had a surprise planned for them and couldn't wait to see their reactions. As she approached her bedroom, she heard muffled sounds coming from inside. She paused, her hand on the doorknob, and listened more intently. The sounds were unmistakably those of kissing. Her heart raced, not with jealousy or anger, but with excitement and curiosity.
She quietly turned the doorknob and pushed the door open a crack, peeking inside. Her eyes widened as she saw James and Regulus on her bed, passionately making out. Their hands roamed over each other’s bodies, their movements fluid and hungry. Y/n’s heart swelled with affection and amusement. She had always known there was a special bond between them, one that went beyond mere friendship or camaraderie.
Y/n pushed the door open wider and stepped inside, clearing her throat to announce her presence. James and Regulus broke apart instantly, their faces flushed and eyes wide with shock. They scrambled to sit up, looking guilty and flustered.
“Y/n, we—” James started, his voice trembling.
“It’s not what it looks like,” Regulus added hastily, his face turning a deep shade of crimson.
Y/n couldn’t help but burst into laughter. The sight of her normally confident and composed boyfriends looking so embarrassed and lost for words was too much. She doubled over, clutching her stomach as she laughed, tears springing to her eyes.
James and Regulus exchanged confused glances, their anxiety slowly giving way to curiosity.
“Y/n?” James asked tentatively. “Are you... okay?”
Y/n straightened up, wiping her eyes and trying to catch her breath. “Oh my goodness, you two,” she said, her voice still tinged with laughter. “You should see your faces! I’m not mad or upset. In fact, I’m really happy for you both.”
James and Regulus looked at each other, then back at Y/n, their expressions a mix of relief and bewilderment.
“You... you are?” Regulus asked, his voice soft and uncertain.
“Yes, of course,” Y/n replied, smiling warmly. “I’ve known for a while that you two had feelings for each other. I’ve seen the way you look at each other, the way you act when you think no one is watching. And honestly, I think it’s beautiful.”
James let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding and grinned sheepishly. “We didn’t know how to tell you,” he admitted. “We were afraid you’d be hurt or angry.”
Y/n shook her head. “I could never be angry about you two loving each other. We’re in a polyamorous relationship, remember? The whole point is that we love and support each other, no matter what.”
Regulus reached out and took Y/n’s hand, pulling her onto the bed between him and James. “We’re so lucky to have you,” he said, his voice filled with emotion. “I don’t know what we’d do without you.”
Y/n leaned in and kissed him softly, then turned and kissed James. “You don’t ever have to worry about that,” she said. “I love you both, and I’m here for you. Always.”
James wrapped his arms around both Y/n and Regulus, pulling them into a tight embrace. “We love you too, Y/n,” he said. “So much.”
The three of them sat there for a moment, holding each other and reveling in the warmth and comfort of their shared love. Eventually, Y/n pulled back and looked at them both, a mischievous glint in her eye.
“So,” she said, a playful smile on her lips. “You two thought you could have all the fun without me, huh?”
James and Regulus chuckled, their earlier tension completely gone. “Well, we were just getting started,” James said, winking at her.
Regulus smirked and leaned in closer. “Care to join us, Y/n?”
Y/n grinned and kissed them both again, her heart full of love and joy. “I thought you’d never ask,” she said, and the three of them tumbled back onto the bed, their laughter and kisses filling the room.
In that moment, surrounded by the two people she loved most in the world, Y/n felt truly at peace. She knew that no matter what challenges they might face in the future, they would face them together, with love and understanding. And that was all she needed.
