The Great Hall was buzzing with the usual hum of chatter and clinking cutlery during lunch. Y/N, who had just finished her Care of Magical Creatures class, made her way towards the Gryffindor table, scanning the room for her boyfriends. Spotting Sirius's messy black hair and Remus's taller frame near the end of the table, she smiled softly. They were sitting together, leaning in close as Sirius told some exaggerated story that had Remus chuckling quietly. As she got closer, Y/N noticed a small group of students from various houses hovering near them. It wasn't unusual for Sirius and Remus to attract attention—they were charming, good-looking, and had that effortless charisma that drew people in. Normally, Y/N found it endearing, but today, something about the way the group was lingering felt off.One of the girls giggled, leaning far too close to Sirius, who had his usual roguish grin plastered on his face. Another boy complimented Remus's height, standing next to him and gesturing animatedly. Remus's polite but clearly uncomfortable smile sent a flare of protectiveness through Y/N.Y/N quickened her pace. When she reached them, she planted herself firmly between the group and her boyfriends. Her Hufflepuff tie and robe swished as she crossed her arms, looking up at the group with an expression that was equal parts friendly and firm."Hi there," she said sweetly, though her tone carried an unmistakable edge. "Can I help you with something?"The group blinked at her sudden appearance, startled. One of the girls—clearly unimpressed—gave Y/N a once-over. "We were just chatting with them," she said with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "You know, being friendly."Y/N raised an eyebrow. "That's nice, but they're not available for whatever 'friendly' means to you."Sirius, who had been biting his lip to suppress a grin, decided to add fuel to the fire. "Oh, love, don't scare them off too quickly. I was just about to get free dessert."Y/N shot him a look so sharp it could have been a hex. "Sirius Orion Black," she said sternly, making him straighten like a scolded child. "Don't make me remind you how you owe me dessert for eating my last chocolate frog."Remus coughed into his hand, trying to stifle his laughter. At 6'3", he towered over Y/N, but the way she commanded the situation made it feel like he was the smaller one. "She's not wrong, Pads," he said, grinning down at her. "Best not to get on her bad side."The group began to fidget awkwardly under Y/N's unwavering gaze. "Right," one of the boys muttered. "We'll just—uh—leave you to it." The group dispersed quickly, muttering to one another as they retreated.Once they were gone, Sirius slung an arm around Y/N's shoulders, his grin wide and proud. "You're terrifying, love. It's one of my favorite things about you."Y/N rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help the small smile tugging at her lips. "I'm not terrifying. I'm just protective.""And adorable," Remus added, leaning down to kiss the top of her head. "Not that we can't handle ourselves, but it's nice to know you've got our backs."Y/N turned to look up at him, her expression softening. "Of course I do. No one messes with my boys."Sirius groaned dramatically, pulling her into a tighter side hug. "We don't deserve you, you know that?""Probably not," Y/N teased, standing on her tiptoes to press a quick kiss to his cheek. "But I'm keeping you anyway."They spent the rest of lunch sitting closer than usual, Sirius and Remus sneaking adoring glances at her while she chatted about her morning. From across the hall, a few of the lingering students watched the trio with a mix of envy and awe, now fully understanding why no one should mess with Y/N's boys.
