. . .
"Everywhere I'm looking now, I'm surrounded by your embrace"
. . .

As Octavio led David away, Hunter turned towards Skylar, his eyes softening as he approached her cautiously. "Are you alright?" he asked gently, reaching out to touch her arm.

Skylar nodded, but her gaze remained distant, still processing the events that had unfolded. "I... I think so," she replied quietly, finally meeting Hunter's concerned eyes. "Thank you for coming for me."

Warm hands wrapped around my waist and pulled me towards them. I knew I was back to my safe place. In Zayn' arms.

Hunter pulled her into a reassuring hug, holding her tightly for a moment before stepping back slightly to look at her face. "I was so worried," he admitted, his voice cracking slightly with emotion. Damn Mother. "I'm just glad you're safe."

I was trying my best to not smile like a fool.

Skylar managed a small smile, her hand reaching up to touch Hunter's cheek. "I knew you guys would find me," she said softly, gratitude and relief evident in her eyes.

Zayn, observing from a respectful distance, approached them with a supportive smile. "We should get back," he suggested gently. "There will be debriefings and reports to file."

Hunter nodded, reluctantly letting go of Skylar but keeping a comforting arm around her shoulders. "Let's go" he said, glancing at Zayn gratefully. "And thank you, Boss, for everything."

Zayn nodded in acknowledgment. "Let's make sure David's actions don't disrupt things any further."

Within no time, the SUVs arrived. Hunter, Skylar, David, and Octavio were in one vehicle, while Levi, Zayn, and I were seated in another. During the ride, Zayn was in constant contact with Hunter and Octavio, coordinating every detail. Initially, they considered blindfolding David to prevent him from seeing anything. However, Octavio's mischievous mind hatched a different plan. With a quick, precise move, he knocked David out cold, causing him to slump over, unconscious.

Since Hunter had another place prepared, he took the unconscious David and Skylar with him.

The journey back to the mansion was tense but uneventful. We remained vigilant, scanning our surroundings for any signs of trouble. As we pulled into the driveway, the familiar sight of the mansion brought a sense of relief.

Zayn and I stepped out of the SUV, and as soon as we entered our room, he pulled me into a breathtaking kiss. His lips were urgent and passionate, a mix of relief and longing. I melted into his embrace, the stress of the day momentarily forgotten. His hands cupped my face, holding me close as if he feared I might disappear.

"What was that for?" I gasped, my chest rising and falling as I struggled to catch my breath. Zayn stood before me, his expression nonchalant, yet a glint of mischief danced in his eyes.

"By the way, I have so many questions about Hunter and Skylar," I said, my curiosity piqued and my voice slightly breathless.

"They were childhood friends turned lovers, then lovers turned strangers," Zayn explained, effortlessly peeling his shirt off his sculpted frame. "But they're far from strangers; they still love each other."

Woah!

"I think I'll take a shower," he added, his gaze turning devilish as he looked at me. "Care to join me?"

A smile tugged at my lips as anticipation stirred within me. "Thought you'd never ask," I replied, my heart skipping a beat as I undressed and followed him toward the bathroom.
