"You have no idea how powerful you are, little one. When the time comes you'll encounter multiple paths, though it's up to you, I encourage you to follow the pull. The closer you get, the stronger you'll be. You have to be able to control your powers, Amora. There are things out there that are filled with greed and a lust for power and with yours they'll become unstoppable. You are destined for greatness, little star."
"What are you doing in here Amora?" Her mother yelled as the white glowing figure disappeared.
Alita suddenly froze as she watched her daughter's eyes flicker completely black, then white, and then settling back with just a black iris. It had only been two days since Amora shifted for the first time on her seventh birthday. She didn't believe that she would shift so soon, and definitely wasn't expecting her powers in close pursuit.
Amora stood, gathering the bottom of her dress, and moved flawlessly past Alita as if she wasn't there. If she couldn't see her feet actually touching the floor she would have thought that her daughter was floating. She could already feel the power that radiated around her and she wanted it, she would have it.
.....
Amora grumbled as she watched another layer of snow cover every inch of the village from her perch in the window. She knew she never belonged cooped up in a small shack with two other witches. Though she could not forget how they took her in when she finally managed to escape her mother and father, she also couldn't stay because she knew they also wanted something more from her. And apparently they would do anything to get it.
Now at Nineteen, almost twenty, Amora was still trying to get full control of her powers. Whenever she thought she had it, another would rush her and put her back to where she started. Amora's wolf began to grow more and more agitated as time went by with her not being able to be out, running through the forest, exactly where she yearned to be.
Amora could hear the whispering coming from the kitchen, they seemed to forget that Amora was also a wolf and could hear absolutely everything that moved inside of the little shack. Jumping down and landing gracefully, she moved to her small room.
Snatching her cloak off her bed, she quickly threw it over her shoulders, feeling the immediate comfort only the thick, heavy, black piece of fabric could give her. Her wolf rolling her eyes at the thought before saying, "Mate will make us feel even better."
"Oh, shut it mutt."
"Just wait and see little Moraaa. I can't wait to say I told you soooo."
Amora was most definitely the calm and quiet type, only her wolf could get a real response from her. Though her wolf would speak up when she wanted to drawl on about their "mate". Or just be the annoying little shit that Amora had no choice but to love.
The two were such an odd pair. Amora loved to be alone, or being around and not being noticed. Completely different from her wolf. She loved attention, wanted to be around people constantly, but it never ended well. The very few times that Amora handed her full control it was complete chaos.
"Hey! Very few casualties, don't forget that part."
"You burned down majority of the castle!" Says Amora.
"Small details. We both hated that place, but that was all you, it was your anger and newfound power that I just so happened to tap into. Sooo, it was your fault, only if you're trying to get technical."
Giving her wolf no response, Amora looked around the small room that she had called her own for the last four years, realizing that she had nothing she would care about leaving here.
"You should stay inside Amora." Vaya says. "It's not safe for you to be out there."
"And why is that? Because I feel as if it's not safe to be here either." Amora responds back through gritted teeth. Her wolf clawed to get out, and Amora hated that the thought of her allowing her wolf to tear the two witches apart had even crossed her mind.
When she gained the ability to hear people's thoughts she vowed to never use it, but seeing how they began to obviously try to keep things from her, from their secret little meetings with other witches from the village, to them whispering to one another when they thought she was asleep.
Her wolf encouraged her to do it, just to know what was really going on, their thoughts made her tense immediately. More people who just kept her around because she had something that they wanted, and that made her angry.
Not hearing a response, she looked over her shoulder at Vaya to see her fumbling to find another lie to tell.
"You know. I never used my abilities on either of you, I honestly didn't want to. I was such a fool to believe that anybody could genuinely care about me." Amora says while shaking her head.
"We do care about you. That's why we want you to stay inside." Says Jade from beside Vaya.
The dark chuckle that fell from Amora's lips sent chills up their spines. "No. You care about my powers! You told me the more I used them the easier it would be to track me. Then you turn around and say that I shouldn't use them at all because they'll find me! I don't even know what the fucking truth is anymore!"
"That is the truth!" They both yell back.
"Is it really? Or am I just here long enough for you to know of all my powers, teach me to control them to kill my mother, then you kill me to split them?" Both stood stock still as Amora's eyes went completely black.
"If you both actually had common sense, you would've known that you can't pick and choose which ones you want, it's all of them or nothing."
Moving to leave again, Amora quickly snatched her hand away from the doorknob to cradle it against her chest.
"I can't let you leave Amora." Says Jade.
"Does Vaya know that you planned to kill her too? Not wanting to share the wealth? Considering that she did most of the work, that seems really unfair Jade." Seeing her skin bubble from the intense heat only pushed her anger further to the surface as Vaya snapped her neck towards her sister.
"You're too afraid to use your powers with your parents still out there." Jade says with a smirk pulling at her lips.
Matching her smirk, Amora says "If you force me, this place will be swarmed in the next few hours or so. And they'll do much worse than me. Torture every single person in the village until somebody gives me up, but I'll be long gone by then."
Practically seeing the wheels turn in their head, Amora threw her head back and sighed loudly. Focusing all her energy, she tilted her head watching as the shadows moved around without being noticed by either witch until it was already too late.
Watching as their own shadows strangled them had their eyes wide with shock and terror.
"You forget that though I am hesitant to move around without the shield, I have many more abilities that can help with that. So now, before this turns into something else, I'll be taking my leave. Have a nice life ladies!"
And with that, she was outside. She glanced at her hand to see that it had already healed and it was just the burning sensation that was lingering.
There was no time to waste as she quickly took her clothes off and wrapped them in her cloak. Amora had no idea where she was going, but her wolf apparently did. Allowing her wolf to take over once they got to the forest, she took off as soon as her paws hit the snow.
