With him on top of her, he was able to protect her from getting trampled on.
While Maddox had snapped out of it, everything still seemed cloudy to Amora.
Maddox could feel someone yanking his arm trying to pull him up. With Amora tucked into his chest, he let Thomas guide him around the chaotic crowd and outside of the club.
“Are you okay sweetheart?” He asks once they stopped next to Thomas’s car. “The fuck was that about?” He continued when he turned to his friends.
Liam let the window down before saying, “Things got crazy once that first fight started. You would’ve noticed if you weren’t in the middle of your skin flick audition.”
“Dance edition.” He adds after sitting up and winking at Maddox.
His cheeks reddened at his friends teasing before flicking him off. Turning back to Amora, everything that she was feeling he could also feel.
Confused, surprised, anxious, excited, and a little bit of anger. He wasn’t able to hear what she was thinking, so he didn’t know why her emotions were all over the place.
When she looked up at him he saw that her light brown eyes had returned. “Talk to me baby.” He says after pulling her back into his arms.
For some reason unknown to her, she felt like she was seeing him for the first time again, but intensified. With sweaty palms, increased heart rate, fluttering in the pit of her belly, all while her mind was trying to put a thousand thoughts together to make sense of things and it was starting to give her a headache.
“Are you hurt?” He asks as he frantically looks her over.
Amora shook her head no before Maddox pushed his fingers into her hair and placed a lingering kiss on her forehead. Which immediately calmed him down.
“You managed to get away this time.” Thomas says.
Maddox turned to him with a devious smile. “And it feels amazing.”
He would never hide his dislike for Dante and they all knew it. Both him and Grace, his girlfriend, just rubbed Maddox the wrong way.
Luckily for him, Dante had been busy and Grace hadn’t spotted him. The amount of toxic energy that radiated around the two was enough to make him steer clear of them.
“Is everything okay?” Amora asks before peeking around Maddox.
“Out of the way, you supernatural boulder! You may have come here for us, but we came for her!” Thomas says to Maddox. “Hi beautiful. I guess meeting you tonight wasn’t the best idea, but after years of waiting to see him with someone of the opposite sex, when he finally agreed we didn’t put too much thought into the where.” He adds, turning his attention towards Amora.
Maddox rolled his eyes as he took a deep breath. “No, it was kind of nice while it lasted. I’m sure he needed tonight more than me though. I honestly don’t think I’m the fun type.” Amora responds.
He rolled his eyes again after hearing her. “If there is a next time, we could start with something else.” She says.
“This time doesn’t count. We should do food, and there’s a new amusement park in town if you guys want to check it out. If you want to have some actual fun, it’s starting to warm up a bit so we could bring out the ATV’s and dirt bikes.”
His friends immediately began to shake their heads after Maddox said, “She’s a girl, she can’t do that.”
Amora slowly looked up at the dark sky before she looked at Thomas and Liam. “Did he just? Did he really just say?”
