Amora stood with clenched fists as the boy kept running his mouth.
"It's funny how you finally decide to leave the castle just to ignore us. Everyone is too afraid to say anything, but I'm curious to know who the princess will be more like. Her whore of a mother or her piece of shit father."
This was Amora's first time outside without a wheelchair and/or being in excruciating pain in years. She was simply walking through the garden trying to enjoy the feeling of the sun on her skin and grass beneath her feet.
She knew all eyes were on her with every step she took, but she didn't care.
"Walk away." Amora responds through gritted teeth.
The last time she had talked to someone her age or even close to it was when she was seven. Now at fifteen, she for sure didn't remember who they were.
"So the bitch does talk!" He says to his friend.
The spike in anger and searing heat that she felt clawing at her insides made her feel lightheaded.
Everyone who had their eyes on her watched attentively as she stumbled slightly.
The look of terror on their faces was the last thing Amora saw before she fell into complete darkness.
.....
The fear that Amora could smell from the vampire did nothing but excite her. She could have easily stopped her, but the chase felt amazing.
Clearly she didn't expect Amora to be that fast, especially still in her human form. She could only make out her gray hair and white pants as she was being hawked down.
Though she had run a good ways away, Amora immediately stopped as she heard the pain filled cries fill the quiet woods. With a flick of her wrist the vampire fell to her knees in front of her.
With a swift punch to her temple, Amora grabbed and quickly dragged her along by one of her arms.
Amora pushed through the crowd only to see a few warriors picking up a bloody and unconscious Mason. "Take her!" She yelled while throwing the vampire at the first empty handed warrior she saw before catching up to the others.
She could see that he was losing blood very rapidly by the trail that followed them. Gripping tightly onto Mason's hand, Amora tried to take away some of his pain and also heal him. She never had to help or heal anyone with such severe injuries, and no she couldn't see them but the near crippling pain that spread through her body let her know that she didn't need to.
Their arrival was expected, so as soon as they placed him onto the bed they took off up the hallway. Amora stood with her hand tightly pressed to her stomach, her eyes never wavering from the direction that they had taken Mason.
Minutes had passed and the queasiness in the pit of her belly only grew intense.
Any hesitation she felt was forgotten as she heard the commotion. Peeking into the small window she could see the doctor pressing paddles against Mason's chest before stepping back. Amora watched as his shoulders dropped, accepting defeat.
Maddox entered just as Amora burst into the room, rushing to help Mason. The soft glow emitting from her hands had everyone speechless. The color slowly draining from her skin forced him to rush to her, he knew that she was pushing herself too hard.
Amora was learning how protective mates could get, but when trying to save one's life you would expect them to allow it. That was only her thinking that Sandra would put whatever she had against her aside and let her help.
