Maddox stood outside his dad's office listening as they had a meeting about him. Trying to decide when it would be the right time to walk in.

"How is it even possible? He's only eleven!" Says his mother.

No one giving her a response made him push the door open. "It's my mate."

"That's impossible Maddox." His mother replies, earning a glare from him.

"What makes you say that son?" Says his father.

Maddox hesitated seeing that there were six others in the room besides his parents. He had never felt like he couldn't trust anyone that sat at the table, but involving his mate, and what he felt like he knew, he wouldn't risk his mate's safety.

"I just know." He says catching his fathers eyes with his.

He saw some kind of understanding in his fathers eyes, anything involving mates was taken seriously in the Mountain Ridge Pack.

Maddox didn't want to tell them that the nights leading up to him shifting for the first time were filled with dreams of a woman carrying on about a higher power. At the time he didn't think it mattered, but he started to absorb every word once she mentioned his mate.

Following the days after shifting, he felt powerful, his wolf was powerful. He wondered if his mate felt the same. He wanted nothing more than for her to be beside him.

When he was told that his mate was safe and they would meet when the time was right, he felt slightly better.

Soon he would meet his Luna and he would love and cherish her, just as much as his father did his mother.

.....

Maddox couldn't take his eyes away from his mate. He had so many things he wanted to say to her, but he really wasn't sure of where to begin.

The dreams of the Goddess coming to him stayed with him, even though that was almost thirteen years ago. Now that she's here, he couldn't help but to be curious of what exactly she meant. He knew from Amora that she was a witch, and obviously her and her wolf are very strong.

Amora could feel Maddox's eyes following her around the kitchen, she could tell he wanted to say or ask her something, but yet, he hasn't opened his mouth.

"Yes Maddox?" She says breaking the silence.

"What?"

Turning towards him, she leaned back against the counter while folding her arms across her chest. "I could always just read your mind on my own, but I don't want to do that or use my powers on you. Sooo, whatever it is, just say it."

"When I shifted for the first time I knew it had something to do with you, no one except my father believed that I would have known that. They still haven't come to a conclusion as to why I shifted when I was so young." He says.

"Why me?" Asked a very curious Amora.

"Someone in my dreams told me."

Tilting her head to the side, Amora didn't realize she was staring at Maddox because she was so deep in her own thoughts.

"You don't believe me either." Maddox says while shaking his head.

Amora made her way to the seat next to him before responding, "I do. I just don't understand why you would shift because of me. We were so far apart, never seen each other, talked, or anything. When did you shift for the first time?"

"February twentieth will be thirteen years." And by the look on Amora's face Maddox knew that the date obviously meant something to her.

She was speechless, and completely confused. "What is it?"

"I shifted on my seventh birthday, also getting my powers right after. On February twentieth I'll be twenty."

They sat looking at one another, neither knowing what to make of the revelation.

"Seven?" Maddox says after a moment of silence. "I don't understand."

Amora opened her mouth to respond, but her hearing footsteps quickly approaching changed her mind.

Seeing Amora's eyes locked on the doorway behind him made him turn just as his mother and father entered.

"Hm. Ryder told me that you may have found your mate. Seeing as you haven't been by in a few days, it must have been true" Maddox's mother said with her eyes locked on Amora.

Maddox's face lit up before saying, "I did! Amora, meet my mother, Sandra and my father, Mason. Mom and dad, meet the most beautiful woman in the world!"

Mason was happy that his son had finally met his mate, considering that most met their mate between sixteen and nineteen. Being twenty-three now, he couldn't understand how Maddox had managed to be patient for seven years and not go look for her. Even would tell him that he was fine because he knew it wasn't their time yet.

"So listen to this. Amora and I shifted on the same day, her birthday! Now tell me that it doesn't mean something." Maddox says to his mother.

"Who are your parent's child?" Sandra asks.

At her words, Maddox looked at his mother with narrowed eyes. "Alita Hutchins, Damon Whittaker." Amora says with a blank expression.

"Whittaker? As in the pure bloods? That live in the castle and only think about themselves, Whittaker?" Sandra continues.

A smile falls onto Amora's face. "Yep. That's them."

"Impossible. There has never been a male in the Whittaker family that has produced a female."

Amora's smile grew wider every time the woman opened her mouth. "And I know that's why he'll always be so sure that I'm not his. Even if they did swab me when I was just a mere pup." She ends with a quiet chuckle.

"Wait wait wait. So you're saying that you're related to the Frank whittaker? First one of our kind to actually walk the earth." Says Mason.

"As sad as it is to say, I am. My father is from a long line of lycan's and my mother comes from a long line of witches."

"You brought a witch into my home? What the fuck are you thinking Maddox!" Sandra exclaims, shocking both her mate and her son.

Amora wasn't too surprised at her reaction, the woman entered the room ready to judge her. "That's my mate that you're referring to, watch what you say mother." Maddox says through clenched teeth.

Now that actually got her. She could never recall anybody actually standing up for her, and it felt weird that it was her mate doing it.

"I'm sure she was supposed to be an actor in one of her past lives." Maddox says after pulling Amora out of the kitchen.

"I don't know, you may have some of that in you too." She responds with a small smile on her face.

Maddox turned and gasped dramatically before saying, "Never! Let's run away! Leave this world behind us!"

While laughing, Amora made her way to the door. "Maybe we can run away some other time."

Maddox says after seeing the weather.

Amora rolled her eyes with a smirk before saying, "What? Scared of some snow alpha?"

Maddox watched with narrowed eyes as his mate moved past him. "That's funny pup."

Her mouth fell open at his words, "I'll show you a pup!" Amora says before shifting and darting off between the trees, Maddox does the same and quickly follows behind her.
