Amora shook her head as Maddox continued to put toppings onto the already more than full bowl. The chocolate syrup and whip cream kept the sprinkles and gummy bears from falling off so fast. Not that it even had the chance by how fast he was eating it.

All she had was vanilla ice cream and sliced bananas, but he somehow had still finished before her.

“I need to go upstairs for a minute, but you think of how you want the fort and we’ll get on it as soon as i’m back, yea?” Maddox saw Amora nod and then he took off for the stairs.

Amora started to put things away, had washed and dried the dishes, and then she finally realized that a half hour had passed and Maddox still wasn’t back.

Already knowing what was happening, she laughed quietly while walking up the stairs.

“Are you okay Maddox?” She asks.

“I want you to know that I regret nothing.” Maddox responds from the bathroom, making Amora laugh.

She didn’t know how long Maddox would be, so she decided that she’d try to start without him.

After telling herself multiple times that she wasn’t actually building a real house that needed different rooms, she was able to get somewhere.

All she had done was tie some sheets to the curtain rods and stood up a few pillows, but she was loving every second.

Maddox could’ve watched her all night because he could see that she was enjoying herself. That’s not how he saw it going though.

“It’s looking good so far sweetheart.”

“Are you trying to be funny?” Amora asks without turning to him. “Do you feel better?”

He felt more than better, he was ready for more. “No and yes. All you have to do now is connect everything.”

They quickly finished before crawling inside. “Nice and spacious.”

Luckily they had put a light colored blanket on the top, it at least allowed them to see one another.

“Give me a minute.” Amora thought that Maddox was going to the bathroom again, but he came right back with his laptop.

Their time together had distracted them from things that were very important, but the distraction was more than welcomed by them both.

Amora still wasn’t sure of why her wolf had been silent and Maddox felt guilty because he was keeping something from her.

After a few movies, Amora found herself dozing off and she immediately sat up straight.

“Don’t even say it. It was your back, not your head. And if it’s obvious to me that you’re tired, I'm going to let you sleep!” Maddox says after seeing how Amora was looking at him.

She knew she couldn’t argue with that, she was indeed very tired. Amora had been feeling like she was fighting an internal battle, one that was leaving her completely exhausted.

“I’m sorry.” She says, before crawling back into his lap.

With a shake of his head, he placed a kiss on her forehead before saying, “You should eat something, but if you’re too tired I can make you something.”

“No. You said that we were making pizza, so that’s what we’re doing.” Amora responds as she makes her way to the kitchen with Maddox closely behind her.

Maddox was fairly surprised when she grabbed the sausage, pepperoni, and ham. He had noticed that she kept it simple when it came to the things she ate.

“That’s a lot of sauce sweetheart.” He chuckled as she kept pouring. “It’s going to get messy trying to eat that.”

“It’ll be worth it!” She says with a smile.

Amora saw how Maddox was trying to hide the smile while she was loud with laughter. The pizza sauce on his chin and shirt had her hysterical.

“I never knew that there was a wrong way to eat pizza.” Maddox says, still trying not to laugh.

After three slices, she was full and ready to lay down again.

As soon as they crawled back into the fort, Maddox had fallen asleep and she couldn’t help but to look at him. He had shown her that not all men were the same.

After leaving the castle, she had run into so many groups and each one had the same ending. With her very, very angry. Meaning that she couldn’t tell you what happened because she didn’t remember.

She hadn’t had a real chance to breathe until she ran onto the Mountain Ridge territory. Until she ran into Maddox. The Moon Goddess had given her so much more than she prayed for.

The light from his laptop danced on his face so perfectly and she was able to admire his chiseled features. Not only was he the sweetest person that she had ever met, he was gorgeous as hell.

Amora ran her hand over the stubble on his chin and cheeks before placing a quick kiss on his forehead and then lips. Hearing the sigh and him tightening his grip on her, she stopped all movement until he settled.

She had slowly fallen asleep without realizing it. She was left in the fort alone but the brightness let her know that it was indeed day time.

“I was wondering how long you were going to sleep.” Maddox says as she enters the kitchen.

It was well into the afternoon and he was making them breakfast. “You eat and get dressed and I’ll clean up.”

Maddox had put all the furniture back when Amora had come back fully dressed and ready.

“I really had a good time last night, thank you Maddox. For everything.”

With a smile that lit up his face, he said, “That’s not all sweetheart. I have more plans for us.”

“And I can’t wait for it. Have a good day.” She says after giving him a kiss and going their separate ways.

Amora was on her way to the greenhouse, but a few warriors walking past caught her attention. Watching them fight had intrigued her, and since Mason got hurt everyone had been training hard.

Since she had dropped her veil they couldn’t see her. This gave her the ability to really observe them without everyone being tense. She didn’t know who exactly was in charge, but they all were moving in sync with one another.

From what Maddox had told her, attacks were very rare for them. They were literally on top of a mountain, so not many passed through either.

Attacks or not, they were training. Hand to hand in human form, with swords of all sizes, and in wolf form. She hadn’t seen Maddox out training with them before, but he had to train right? He’s the Alpha.

With that thought, she shook her head and went on her way. Everything that she had learned outside of controlling her powers she had basically taught herself, but she knew she would have to watch closer because she definitely planned to get one of those swords for herself.

As usual, everyone kept their head down or quickly looked away once she set her eyes on them. By now Amora was used to it, did she like it? Of course not, but she wouldn’t force anyone to like her.

Knowing how the majority felt towards her, they all have steered clear of the greenhouse since she had been tending to it.

So the heavy footsteps that she heard before even getting to the door made her pause for a second. As she got closer, the scent grew stronger and as soon as she recognized it she couldn’t control how hard she rolled her eyes and the mild annoyance that filled her.

“Well, isn’t this a great way to start my day!” Amora exclaims sarcastically.
