“What do you think he’ll be like? What if he’s not funny? We’ll have to spend the rest of our life laughing at his boring jokes!”

Amora simply rolled her eyes at her wolf’s words and continued on sewing.

Receiving no response made no difference, she went on anyway. “I hope he’s big! Shoulders, chest, arms, and his”

“Stop it!” Amora says quickly, cutting her off.

“Hands. I was going to say hands Amora!”

Amora shook her head knowing that was surely not what she actually wanted to say.

“He’ll be the most beautiful creature on earth for sure.” She adds dreamily.

Amora never really said anything when her wolf got like this. Even though she wasn’t excited about finding their mate, she wouldn’t take that away from her wolf.

Everything she had experienced since she was seven years old, her wolf had been through as well. No matter how much it annoyed her, she wouldn’t take that piece of happiness away from her.

…….

“So what’s up?” Mason asks.

Maddox shook his head before responding through mindlink, “Not here. I’m sure she heard you.”

He assumed that Maddox was talking about Amora because his eyes hadn’t left her since he approached him. “Impossible, she’s all the way over there, and not with the noise.”

“Are you okay sweetheart?” He asks quietly. Even with the wolves fighting and metal clanging together, Amora still turned to him and nodded her head.

Maddox turned to his father as he said, “What the hell!”

“I’m going to walk her to the greenhouse, and we can meet and talk afterwards.”  He says as Amora makes her way over towards them.

“Good morning ms. Amora. Your pet has been behaving himself, yes?” Mason asks as he nodded towards Maddox.

She couldn’t help but to laugh before saying, “Good morning, and yes. He was already perfectly trained when I got him.”

Maddox threw his hands up as he said, “Come on, not you too.”

Amora wrapped her arms around Maddox as she and Mason continued to laugh at him. “I’ll see you in a bit old man.” He says while pulling Amora away.

“Bye Mason.” She says with a small wave.

“Are you sure you’re okay Maddox?” He looked down at her and he could see the worry in her eyes. Surely she took notice of how he hadn’t wanted to leave her alone since the night before.

He had clung to her all night. When she stirred awake the next morning, he had jumped up and immediately scanned the room before letting her go. He had taken a quick shower in another room while she was in theirs so he could be out and dressed before her.

They always had breakfast together, but this morning he stayed after and had tea with her. She wanted to go for a walk around the shield before going to the greenhouse and he wanted to join.

When they passed the training field she wanted to see how they trained and he decided to stay, she could feel him staring at her the entire time. Now he was walking her to the greenhouse.
