SCENE: THE TUNNELS
(Amber sits in a wheelchair tired from her second week as an intern while the others sit in the gurneys tired as well)
Amber: (Yawns) I can't remember what sleep felt like, can any of you?
Sam: I don't even know what day it is.
Vik: I don't know the last time I changed my underwear.
Taryn: Use the panty liners in the women's room, they help.
Dahlia: The other day I almost peed in a supply closet.
(Amber and Casey lightly chuckle)
Casey: Like, just for fun?
Dahlia: I couldn't find the bathroom. I've been here two weeks and I still don't know my way around.
(All their pagers beep causing them to groan and get up to run to the pit. They run past Meredith and Alex on the bridge)
Alex: Hey!
Meredith: W-Slow down!
Amber: Trauma in the pit!
Levi: Sorry! Big trauma incoming!
(Amber arrives in the pit and grabs a gown prepping herself behind Andrew and Sam who have a spat)
Sam: How long do you think you can pretend I'm invisible?
Andrew: Well, it worked for you for years. Blocked me on social media.
Sam: Yeah, because you moved across the country, and you didn't say goodbye.
Andrew: Because you broke into my apartment.
Sam: Because you kidnapped my dog.
Andrew: Because you wouldn't return my calls.
Amber: (Annoyed and tired) Can you idiots save this lovers spat for people who care?
(Andrew and Sam look at Amber)
Amber: Sorry I get mean when I'm tired. Seriously though, time and place guys.
(Amber runs to the breezeway with the others as two ambulances pull up and a truck carrying a roller coaster car. Amber stays behind as a male paramedic wheels out a man)
Paramedic: Dean Parson, 40s male. Status post blunt trauma to the chest and abdomen, shielded some kids when a roller-coaster car came loose. GCS of 10, follows commands but nonverbal. Pulse 120s, stable pressure.
Amelia: Roller coaster? How are the kids?
Paramedic: Not a scratch. This guys a hero. Threw himself between the kids and the car.
Owen: Okay let's get him inside. (To Helm and Roy) You two, come with me.
(Amber and Levi head to the next ambulance with April leading where a paramedic exits with a woman who has a cast in her leg)
Paramedic: Sara Carson, 23, she was caught in a stampede when the crowd panicked, GCS of 12, follows commands and is verbal, pulse is 100, passed the neuro test, stable pressure.
April: All right let's get her inside.
(Amber and Levi help wheel her inside)
April: Schmitt, Amber you two go to the pit, help out any minor injuries that you can take care of.
Amber: Got it.
(Amber and Levi leave to do as their told)
