A WEEK LATER
SCENE: WEBBERS OFFICE
(Amber inputs the last of the data into the PowerPoint presentation while Webber ties his tie)
Amber: I should put that you've got 75% of all tumor types into the database, right?
Webber: 80% I just put in ten more entries last night.
Amber: I can tell by the bags under your eyes, have you slept at all last night?
Webber: It's Ollie's funeral today so I couldn't sleep last night. I came in from home and just worked on the pen, its easier than just tossing and turning waiting for the morning to come.
Amber: Of course. Are you heading to the funeral after this?
Webber: Kepner said I could go first and then head out.
Amber: Don't worry even though we're first we're gonna knock Kepner's socks off with our cure to cancer.
Webber: (Amused) We? Don't you have rounds Dr. Karev?
Amber: I...do but I was hoping my favorite boss would let me in the room to see the future of medicine being presented?
(Amber tries her best attempt at puppy dog eyes)
Webber: No, Attendings only. Thank you for your help, Amber but you are dismissed.
Amber: It was worth a try. Tell me how it goes and let me know if you need anything.
(Amber leaves the room to join the others at rounds)
AN HOUR LATER
(Amber stands at the nurse's stations looking at her tinder profile with Dahlia and Taryn)
Amber: I don't know about this guys. I mean I have the same odds of being killed using this app as I do meeting some stranger in a bar. Plus, that thing with Dr. Pierce when she unknowingly slept with a married man, she met through an app like this. The next spouse I sleep with might not be poly and I already feel enough like a home wrecker. I should just delete it.
Dahlia: No way. Your brothers wedding is coming soon, and you do not want to be the sad girl with no date. Trust me I speak from experience.
Taryn: Me too. I'm just waiting for Meredith Grey to realize that she can't live without me.
Amber: Don't do that. Don't be the lesbian hung up on a straight woman she'll never get with, it's sad and its pathetic.
Taryn: Harsh. I see that sleeping alone is bringing out your nice side.
Dahlia: Anyway, if you don't want to do it then just ask someone out from this hospital. You know that DeLuca is newly single.
Amber: Correction; DeLuca was forced to be newly single after his girlfriend left the states to avoid being deported back to an underdeveloped country she left when she was a baby. Also, I highly doubt that he wants to be a plus one to the woman whose brother beat him up.
Dahlia: ...Yeah, never mind.
Taryn: I thought pan people didn't have standards so why are you so against getting a dating app?
Amber: I have standards like not dating married people or people who could potentially take my organs for cash. You can find all those things on a dating app regardless of gender.
Dahlia: She's got a point.
Amber: Maybe I'll ask Levi; I mean it's not like he has a line of people asking him.
