A WEEK LATER

SCENE: DOWNTOWN SEATTLE AT MIDNIGHT

(After passing her in training exams Amber walks to the bank to cash out her money for the week. Her phone rings and she sees Alex's name on the screen)

Amber: Hey bro.

Alex: Hey how did the exams go?

Amber: Good I passed with flying colors so did Levi and Taryn. Roy barely passed, no surprise there. What's up, are you at the hospital?

Alex: Um no. I'm at Mer's I'm not gonna come home tonight so if Jo asks just tell her that I'm at the hospital looking after Charlie.

Amber: You want me to lie to her? Is this about her applications? Alex, you were a senior resident once who wanted to get out and broaden your skill set at half of those places. Why are you holding it against Jo?

Alex: It's a long story, one I don't feel like explaining to you so can you just do what I said please?

Amber: (Sighs) Fine, I'm getting cash out and I'll be at the loft shortly. Good night.

Alex: Night.

(Amber hangs up and walks down the street to the ATM where she cashes out 100 dollars. She walks across the empty street when a man suddenly appears in front of her with pale skin and red rimmed eyes)

Man: (Smiles) Hi.

Amber: (Scared) Hi.

Man: Sorry if I scared you, I just wanted to say hi.

Amber: Its fine.

(Amber power walks past him but he follows)

Man: Where are you headed?

Amber: Home.

Man: Where's home?

Amber: None of your business.

Man: Whoa! I'm not gonna rob you or anything.

Amber: Good to know, now leave me alone.

Man: And I'm not gonna rape you if that's what your worried about. I like for both parties to be present.

Amber: (Getting more scared) I don't want to be present so please stop following me.

(The man steps in front of Amber stopping her in her tracks)

Man: Look I'm sorry if I'm scaring you, I was just trying to make conversation.

Amber: Here's a tip; try not telling the person that you're not gonna assault them because it'll make them more afraid that you are and kill any chances of conversation. Can you please just get out of my way, I'm not gonna ask again.

Man: Okay. I will but I just need to ask you something and then you can leave. Do you have any money on hand? As you can guess from my appearance, I'm a little strapped on cash and you look like you have some on hand so...

Amber: Sorry, I don't have anything.

Man: Really? Because I saw you walk out of an ATM a minute ago and you took some greens out. This is the problem with the world, rich people who have everything and nothing to give. So, lets skip this and you can give me what I want.

Amber: (Shaking from fear) Look, I-I-I don't have a lot of money to give. And seriously you're scaring me and I just want to go home.

(Amber tries to walk past the man but he pushes her to the ground. Amber reaches for her phone, but he grabs it and tosses it aside. Amber prepares to scream but sees the gun on the man's hand)
