FOUR WEEKS LATER

SCENE: GREY SLOAN MEMORIAL

(Amber and the others follow Jo as they go through their typical rounds. They stop at Ollie's room where Meredith stands guard)

Meredith: Whoa. Where are you going?

Jo: Rounds.

Meredith: Uh, skip this one.

Jo: I really can't.

Meredith: No, you can because Ollie is dying, and Richard doesn't need to hear you say it again.

Jo: There are protocols. When you break them, you're Meredith Grey, when I break them, I get a write-up.

Meredith: Okay. Fine. Just do it out here.

Jo: Okay. Roy?

(Amber stays silent to watch Roy be humiliated.)

Roy: But I need to see the patient's latest vitals, in the room.

Meredith: Be creative. Qadri?

Dahlia: Uh... That's... right...That's Molly?

(Amber was about to speak when Sam beats her to the punch irritating her)

Sam: Ollie. Olive Warner. She's 66. End-stage liver failure and cardiomyopathy. Surgical protocols were rejected in favor of end-of-life support.

(Amber purses her lips in annoyance)

Meredith: Excellent Bello. Move along.

(Jo leads the interns to other rooms)

Amber: (Whispering) I would've said something you know; I've been in the room with Richard for weeks, so I know almost everything about Ollie. I just wanted to give you guys a chance to shine because I'm that good of a person.

Taryn: Let it go Amber.

(They arrive at Kimmie's room where she's packing, and Alex tries to stop her. He turns and sees them outside)

Alex: Come back later.

(Alex shuts the door.)

Jo: Lets skip this one.

(Jo leads the others to another room)

Levi: (Whispering) What's with your brother?

Amber: (Whispering) His favorite patient is dying, and Alex hasn't found a way to advance the project that could save her.

Jo: Be quiet so you can pay attention, She-Karev!

Amber: Sorry. (To Levi) We'll talk later.

(The arrive at an exam room which Arizona exits)

Arizona: No! No, no, no. They do not go in there.

Jo: Are you serious? This is a teaching hospital.

Arizona: Yeah. Well, this is a teaching moment. He is a father who lost the mother of his baby in childbirth. And now the baby has a failure to thrive, and he is breaking, and he needs a minute!

Jo: Go!

(The interns scurry off.)

TWENTY MINUTES LATER

(Jo stops the interns in their tracks to assign them)

Jo: Okay. Karev you'll be assisting me on a Lap Appy, Schmitt you're with Robbins today covering L&D, Parker you're with Pierce, Qadri, Helm, and Roy you're on the clinic and Bello is with-
