A MONTH LATER
SCENE: JO AND ALEXS LOFT
(Jo huddles in bed wrapped in a blanket, Amber makes tea in a coat and Alex eats cereal in a parka)
Amber: (Cranky from the cold) If it knew I was moving into the Arctic I would've stayed in that crappy motel with the crappy heater.
Jo: Why is it so cold?
Alex: They powered down the furnace. Because its May!
(Amber groans as Jo's phone dings)
Jo: (Gasps)
Alex: What?
Jo: Kepner sent out the wedding invitations!
(Amber and Alex look at the phone)
Alex: Is it weird to get an invitation to our own wedding?
Jo: No, that's the beauty of Kepner doing it all for us.
Amber: It's pretty.
Alex: Mm. Its fancy.
Jo: Right? I mean it might be too fancy for me to go to.
Alex: Oh yeah. Put us down for a 'maybe'
Jo: (Laughs) Yeah.
Amber: (Flatly) You two are so perfect for each other it makes me want to rip your eyes out.
Alex: No date yet?
Amber: Nope. Every tinder date I go to ends up in an epic disaster. Like that one girl who eats nothing but kale, or that tattoo artist who offered me a discount at his shop. All those people scream just one night and toss aside.
Alex: Nice. Just go solo I mean what's the big deal.
Amber: I'm the maid of honor, I'm supposed to walk down the aisle with a hot piece of man or woman meat otherwise I'm gonna look sad and pathetic. Of course, what's sad and pathetic is that I have to trust technology to find me a date.
Jo: Welcome to your generation. Why don't you just ask Maya to be your plus one? Maybe she'll take pity and stick around long enough for her to walk you down the aisle.
Amber: (Chuckles) Knowing her she'll probably bail the moment I'm called. How is it so hard for me to find a date, I mean I'm pan the skies the limit so why haven't I found anyone?!
Alex: Because you are surprisingly judgmental for a pan person.
Amber: Excuse me.
Alex: I'm serious anytime someone says or does something that you feel is weird you run away. I mean you left a date last week because the guy wore socks with sandals.
Jo: I probably would've dumped him too to be honest.
Amber: Thank you Jo.
Jo: But he's right you should lower your expectations just a bit. I mean how would you feel if your dates left early because you...talk about surgery instead of normal date stuff? Maybe if you give them chance you might be surprised by what else you can find out, and maybe that'll make their weird thing seem less weird.
Alex: Or you can just go to the wedding alone and be looked at with pity.
Amber: I hate both of you. I'm headed to work let me know when your stupid landlord turns the furnace back on.
(Amber leaves in her coat carrying a tumbler with tea slamming the door on the way)
Alex: She knows we're right.
Jo: Oh yeah totally.
CUT TO THE INTERNS LOCKER ROOM
(Amber and the others change into their scrubs)
