ONE WEEK LATER

SCENE: INTERN LOCKER ROOM

(Amber and the interns change into their scrubs as they discuss possible new jobs)

Amber: Did you hear back from your friend at Baylor Scott?

Dahlia: Yeah, she says there are at least two openings, although they probably won't interview until fall.

Taryn: This hospital won't be standing by fall.

Levi: What do you mean? I mean they can't just close down a hospital because of one rich old white guys actions. Can they?

Amber: I mean the foundation was built by a man who motivated the future of medicine when behind the scenes he was attacking innocent women and destroying their chances of practicing medicine. We've given awards in his name while these women suffered in silence, I mean at the very least their gonna shut the foundation down and all the hospitals including this one down with it. Five bucks says that the hospital closes by the time summer ends.

Taryn: Please, I'll put ten bucks on that they put the closed sign by the time summer begins.

Dahlia: Twenty bucks on two months after this. Who's writing this down?

(Amber pulls out her small notepad and pen and places the bets)

Amber: Anyone else?

(The interns gather around placing their bets)

TWO HOURS LATER AT THE PIT

(Amber and Jo chat by the nurse's stations about the wedding)

Amber: You're letting Kepner plan the wedding? Don't you think a professional would do it better?

Jo: Kepner planned her own wedding that was so beautiful and fairytale like that I wished I would get married like that, so no no one can beat Kepner.

Amber: Didn't she leave her fiancé at the altar of her fairytale wedding?

Jo: Well...yes but before that she planned the hell out of it. Plus, Alex and I hate planning we would probably do it at a murder site by mistake.

Amber: Oh yeah, I mean Alex's last wedding was someone else's wedding so I think that speaks highly of his planning skills.

Jo: Is something going on with Alex? Something I don't know about? Because he was all hot and romantic this morning and he became cold after he saw his bank account, is it money problems?

Amber: Jo, I've never really been good at reading my brother and his changing mood swings. Best advice I can give is to just give him space, let him brood and hope he tells you himself.

Jo: Your zero help at all, remind me again why I choose you to be my maid of honor?

Amber: Because I'm the closest you have to a female friend at this place and I'm your fiancés sister, so it gives you a ticket to butter me up about my brother and his problems. Like what you're doing right now.

Jo: True. Did you get stopped by the reporters outside? I swear I wanted to run them down with my car.

Amber: Dark and yes, I said no comment of course like that'll stop them. I swear if I knew I was gonna work at a hospital whose provider was a sexual predator I would've taken UCLA and its polluted air. The interns and I are calling our med school buddies hoping that there's spots open for next year. You're lucky that you'll only be here for another few months, by then it'll be closed down.

Jo: We don't know if the hospitals are closing okay. I know its tough right now but we just need to stay positive.

Amber: I am being as positive as a proton or maybe a neutron.
