SCENE: KERRY PARK
(Amber is in a black sports bra and black shorts running the path as fast as she can seeing the statue representing the finish line a hundred yards away. Maya slaps the statue a second before Amber touches it. They both stop running with Amber obviously exhausted as she breathes heavily while Maya smiles breathing normal)
Maya: First place!
(Amber leans against the statue trying to control her breathing with Maya growing concerned)
Maya: Are you okay?
Amber: (Swallows) Yeah, I will be, I just need to wait for my lungs to come back to me from that half mile Mark.
Maya: (Chuckles) Not a runner?
(Maya hands Amber a water bottle from her fanny pack)
Amber: (Drinks water) I am. I run at my place of work all the time its just...the hospital has AC and the longest I run is like 3000 feet.
(Amber sits on the bench starting to breathe normal again with Maya joining her)
Maya: Yeah, I guess I should have figured. I self-discipline as a hobby and profession and I'm guessing this is the first workout you've had since starting.
Amber: You guess right, not that I didn't enjoy this...date with you I especially love seeing you in skintight clothes that's what kept me from passing out and dying. But uh do me a favor please?
Maya: Name it.
Amber: Don't ever ask me to run with you again because it's hard having to catch up to an Olympian, which is experience I now have thanks to you.
Maya: (Chuckles) Okay how about this? I can go out and run on my own or with my best friend and...you can wait for me in my apartment with breakfast for us.
Amber: I can't cook, I can try but I'm not sure you would want to keep seeing me after.
Maya: Okay then run the fruit in my fridge under water and hand it to me in a bowl, how does that sound?
Amber: Deal, shake on it?
Maya: (Grins) I was thinking we could seal it with a kiss.
(Amber smiles at Maya before pulling her in for a loving kiss that turns to a make out. Amber's phone beeps causing her to check it)
Amber: Oh no. I have rounds in half an hour, I have to go!
(Amber gets up and runs the direction towards the hospital at full speed)
Maya: Do you want me to-
(Amber runs out of earshot before Maya can finish)
Maya: (Impressed at Amber's renewed energy) Wow she can run when she wants to.
29 MINUTES LATER IN THE LOCKER ROOM
(Amber runs inside the room still in her sportswear causing Sam, Dahlia, Levi, Taryn, Casey and Roy to stare at her as she opens her locker sweaty and out of breath)
Roy: (Still bitter over the knee to the groin) Oh look if it isn't sporty Barbie.
Amber: (Still mad at him) Shut up.
Sam: Did you jog here?
Amber: (Panting as she puts on her scrubs quickly) Yeah, my new bae is a fitness nut who thought it would be fun to run together but I lost track of time and I ran five blocks so I could get here before Jo does. I'm not too late, am I?
Casey: No. (Sniffs around her and gags) But you may want to shower because you smell like the before of a deodorant commercial.
Levi: (Sniffs her too and nods) Yeah you totally should.
