Forest Edge

Hiccup had been thinking about the girl he had met during the meeting ever since their brief encounter. He had wanted to talk to her, but every time he tried, his shyness got the best of him. Today, determined to finally start a conversation, Hiccup wandered near the forest, hoping to gather the courage he needed.

Y/n had been practicing how to carefully approach Hiccup, knowing that he might be shy and need a gentle introduction. She often came to the forest edge, hoping to catch a glimpse of him.

Today, luck was on Y/n's side. As she picked flowers near the edge of the forest, she noticed Hiccup wandering nearby, looking deep in thought. She could see the furrow in his brow and the way his eyes were distant as if he were contemplating something important.

Excitement bubbled up inside her, causing her heart to race. Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she began to walk towards him. The soft rustle of leaves under her feet was the only sound breaking the tranquil silence of the forest. She didn't want to startle him, so she approached gently. When she was close enough, she spoke in a soft, clear voice, "Hi, Hiccup."

Hiccup turned, surprised at first, but then his expression softened when he saw her. The girl's eyes sparkled with the joy and innocence of a child, yet there was a wisdom in her gaze that belied her years.

Hiccup's thoughts raced with innocent wonder. "It's Y/n," he thought, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "She's always so full of life. I wonder what adventures she's been up to today." He admired the simple beauty of her flower-filled hands and the way her presence seemed to brighten the day. "She's like a little ray of sunshine," he mused, feeling a sense of peace wash over him.

Y/n stepped closer, holding out the flowers she had picked. "These are for you," she said with a shy smile, her cheeks flushing with excitement. "It's nice to see you again."

He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. His cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Smiling warmly, Y/n reassured him, "It's okay. I'm Y/n. We've seen each other before, remember? You were with your dad."

Y/n gestured for him to take the flowers. Hiccup hesitantly took them, feeling the soft petals brush against his fingers. Y/n smiled, her face lighting up with a pure, innocent joy that made Hiccup's heart swell.

He just stood there, speechless, as if he had seen an angel. The world seemed to stand still around him. The way the sunlight caught her hair, the innocent sincerity in her voice, and the pure, untainted kindness in her gesture made his heart swell with warmth. All he could do was smile back at her, his eyes reflecting the admiration and gratitude he felt.

Hiccup nodded, finally finding his voice. "Yeah, I remember. You're friends with that boy."

Nodding, Y/n confirmed, "That's right. I wanted to talk to you then, but I had to go. It's nice to finally meet you properly."

Smiling shyly, Hiccup responded, "It's nice to meet you too."

Y/n looked up at Hiccup, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Would you like to play with me?" she asked, her voice gentle and inviting. Hiccup nodded, a small smile forming on his lips.

Y/n noticed a small pile of sticks and leaves nearby and got an idea. "Hey, do you want to help me build a tiny fort with these sticks? It could be our secret hideout."

Hiccup's eyes lit up with interest. "Really? That sounds fun!"

They both got to work, arranging sticks and leaves to build their little fort. As they worked, Y/n looked over at Hiccup with genuine curiosity. "Do you have any friends you like to spend time with?"
