Marcus was used to Ashley's tantrums.

He was used to the screams.

He was used to the pouting.

What he wasn't used to was the crying.

Ashley never cried.

Yet when Ashley had turned away he caught glimpses of tears.

The two boys Ashley was wrestling with stared at him.

"You gonna go after her or what?" The shorter one asked.

Marcus nodded, and started walking towards the direction in which Ashley had vanished a few minutes before.

"Yo Marcus?"

He turned around.

"You hurt her and we'll skin you alive."

Marcus didn't know what was creepier, the message or the fact that both the boys had said the sentence in perfect unison.

Marcus blinked, "We're not together." He muttered.

Okay, that was pathetic.

The taller boy raised his eyebrows, "You trying to convince us or yourself?"

Marcus shook his head, "Look at her. A girl like Ashley would never fall for a guy like me."

The younger boy coughed, "You really don't see it, do you? Man, this is ironic."

The other boy nudged him furiously.

"Just go talk to her." He said before Marcus could question them any further.

Feeling a lot like he was being dismissed, Marcus walked out of the room, towards Ashley.
