"Ashley load the bloody dishwasher!"

She groaned.

"Now!"

"Why can't you do it?" She asked, still not getting up.

Jamie glared at her with four trays piled up in his hands. "Why do you think, genius?"

Ashley frowned, "Where's Carter anyway?"

Jamie smirked, "On a date."

Ashley snorted, "No, really."

"I'm serious," Jamie assured her, "And guess who it's with."

Ashley's eyes widened, "No. Not Chloe Carter."

Jamie rolled his eyes, "Don't be ridiculous. As if a lady like her would ever go on a date with a squirt like him."

"Well, who is it then."

"Grandma Ruby."

"What?"

If Jamie's hands weren't otherwise occupied, he would have buckled over laughing. "You...should have seen...your face."

Ashley gave him a dry look.

"Tell me where the boy is, you unsophisticated worm."

"Frat party."

"Jamie!"

"He's gone to get groceries. Jesus woman, let go of my ear before I drop all these dishes."

Ashley let go of his ear.

"There, see? That wasn't very hard now, was it?'

"Go load the dishwasher." Jamie grumbled, before walking away, still muttering to himself under his breath.

Ashley rolled her eyes at him.

She looked at the dishwasher.

How could something so ordinary be so sinister?

The silver surface seemed to be gleaming challengingly at her.

She eyed it as she got out the dirty dishes.

"I'm watching you," She said to the washer as she reached towards it slowly.

"Don't think you can play your dirty tricks on me this time sucker," She said as she slammed the hatch open and shoved the dishes inside, slamming the hatch shut in record time.

"Yeah baby, success has never tasted so sweet!" She hollered, fist bumping the air and doing a little chicken dance to go along with it.

"Very impressive," Came a voice from behind her, making her freeze.

"Except, you seem to have forgotten the soap."
