Friday, November 11th

It's been five days since I broke into Alex's house with Elijah. We hadn't talked since then either, just like I expected. Alex and Eli were back to being best friends like they were before, just like I expected.

Monday, the day after Elijah and I put our plan into action, Alex came to school looking ridiculous. You could see traces of sharpie on his face and his hair looked like a porcupine. It was great. He came to school until yesterday like that. I guess Elijah and Alex talked and called it even and made up, or whatever guys called it.

My life had been pretty routine all week, my schedule having no changes.

I told Lily and Phoebe what happened with Elijah and they freaked out. Lily almost got detention for being too loud, ya. Needless to say, they were more upset about Elijah not talking to me then I was.

I knew that once he was done with my genius plan things would go back to normal. I wasn't upset at all though because I had that mindset going into it. His absence in my life had caused absolutely no change.

I just got home from school a couple minutes ago and I immediately went to my room. I was just sitting on my bed listening to music while doing homework at the moment, the usual. As I belted out the lyrics to the song playing throughout my room, I heard my mom call my name from downstairs. My parents got back from their cruise on Tuesday morning, giving me a break from endless laundry and dishes.

I paused my music and walked down the stairs to my mom. "Yes mom?" I said as my mom came into my line of sight. She was in her usual attire, boyfriend jeans and a t-shirt with her hair in a ponytail. She was a stay at home mom so she didn't usually dress up unless she was on a date with my dad or something like that. Her skin was a few shades darker than usual from the trip and I could see the tan line from her bracelet from here.

"Will you get Emma and tell her to do the laundry." She asked sweetly.

"Sure." I told her going back upstairs when I heard my mothers voice call out again, "Oh, Bella, Emma mentioned something to dad and I about your boyfriend..." I couldn't see her face but I could already tell she was smirking.

I rolled my eyes with a huff, of course Emma said that. I went back down the stairs and to the kitchen looking at my mom with disbelief, "Tell me more." I said casually, trying not to let her gain pointless information from a reaction.

"Emma said you had a boyfriend...Eli?" She said while putting some dishes away.

"Yah that's his name," I paused, "and he's not my boyfriend. We hung out Sunday night, that's all." I tried to clarify in as few words as possible.

"That's not what Emma told me." My mom teased me.

"Mooommmmm." I groaned. "Listen, I've gone to school with this kid since preschool and the first time I've talked to him since sophomore year was last week. He wanted help pranking his friend and he knew I used to pull amazing pranks when we were younger, so I made the plan for him and that's all." I purposefully left out the part about me being an accomplice. My mom wouldn't be too happy about that. "I can't even call him my friend, never mind my boyfriend."

"Well maybe your sister saw some potential energy between you two so she just assumed..." My mom tried to defend Emma.

"Trust me, she wasn't shy about asking me about it either, but I made it clear to her that we weren't dating. She's just being typical matchmaker Emma and I'm going to kill her." I said blatantly.

My mom laughed, "Just don't leave any evidence."

I walked up the stairs rolling my eyes at my mom and bursted into the guest room where Emma was staying.

"Why did you tell mom I was dating Elijah?"

"Relax." Emma said calmly." I was joking around, but it's obvious you like him now." She smirked.

"Emma I've talked to this boy on like two departures occasions. We haven't even talked all week. Elijah and I are like whatever is in between acquaintances and friends."

"So you've been keeping track of all the times you've talked huh?" Emma smirked and winked at me.

"Oh my gosh," I groaned and rolled my eyes. "You are insufferable." I dismissed her. There was no point in arguing with her anymore. She would just say she knows more about the human psyche than me because she was a psychology major. I thought it was a bunch of hullabaloo but I wouldn't argue with her. "Anyways, mom wants you to do the laundry."

"But I'm a guesttt." She complained.

"Well as long as you're staying here, you have to do chores to." I said pushing Emma off her bed. She grunted saying obscene things under her breath while she headed to the laundry room.

It was 9:00 p.m. and I was sitting on my bed scrolling through my phone. After I finished my homework, we ate dinner as a family where I had to explain, once again, that Elijah and I weren't dating. My dad brought it up and both Emma and my mom busted out laughing as soon as he did. I, on the other hand, was over my family making assumptions just because we hung out. I could simply look at a guy and they would already be arranging the wedding. They were almost worse than Phoebe and Lily.

After dinner I went on my phone for a little, checking off my to do list, and got ready for bed.

"Bella!" I heard Emma yell, her footsteps coming closer.

"Yes?" I replied, my attention on my phone screen.

"What are you doing to tomorrow?" She asked coming into my room and sitting on my bed.

"Not much," I recalled my very empty schedule for Saturday.

"I'm going to take you out."

"Why?" I questioned. "I'd be more than happy with staying in my room all day." I laughed lightly.

"Multiple reasons actually." She stated matter of factly. "One, I'm your older sister, two, I never get to see you anymore, three, you've been moping about that boy all week, and four, I'm your older sister." She listed, repeating number one twice.

"Number three is not true. I am not moping, this is what I usually do." I explained. I wasn't lying either, my life consisted of my schedule plus some free time on the weekend and there was nothing wrong with that.

"Well, then you're boring." She stated very matter of factly.

I looked up from my phone and glared at her. "I am not boring."

"Then you're moping."

"I'm not moping."

"Then you're just boring."

"Fineeeeee," I dragged out. This was a pointless argument anyways. "What time?"

Emma smiled is victory, "How about eleven?"

"Sounds peachy, now leave, I'm tired." I exclaimed, shutting off the light, and closing my eyes.
