eli's p.o.v.
I rubbed my hand over my face and sighed as I took the first couple of steps into my house. I took the stairs by two and climbed up to my room, collapsing on my bed.
My head throbbed despite the medicine Bella had given me earlier.
Bella, Bella, Bella.
She was so much different than all the other girls I'd talked to. Makenzie was beautiful on the outside, but she was so shallow. And her friend Maia, my ex, she was beautiful on the outside also, and maybe even on the inside too, but all she ever did is party and try to get with guys.
But Bella, she was different. She wasn't friends with me because she wanted to get with me or for popularity or bragging rights. She was friends with me because she actually wanted to be, and maybe because I forced her into helping me with Alex but that's besides the point.
There was something about her that drew me to her and I couldn't explain it. There was a reason that even when I didn't have control over my actions when I was drunk, I called her, not Makenzie, not Ryan or Rem, not even Alex, but Bella.
My thoughts started swarming with all things Bella and I wished I could just grab them and lock them in a box but I couldn't.
I groaned and grabbed the pillow next to me, covering my face with it.
My thoughts eventually dissipated and I started to drift off when my phone rang loudly next to me. I ignored it at first hoping that it would shut off, but the caller wouldn't quit.
I groaned once again and removed the pillow off of my face, grabbing my phone and looking at the caller I.D.
It's Makenzie.
I found myself annoyed at her, even though I knew I didn't really have a reason besides the whole cheating thing, but we were over that. We were dating after all.
I eventually answered her call and she greeted me enthusiastically, not helping my headache at all.
"Hey Babe! I was just making sure you're ok. I didn't see you for the rest of the night after you went to find Alex and I was just making sure you got home safely." She said, her voice all too peppy for this hour on the weekend.
Once again, my mind automatically thought of Bella and how I called her, and how she picked me up, how she let me sleep at her house. She was probably the reason I wasn't still at that dumb bakery, sleeping on a bench. I smiled a little to myself.
"Eli? Are you there?" Makenzies voice sounded again as I hadn't answered her yet.
I rubbed a hand over my face to wake myself up and responded, "Ya, ya sorry. I got home fine." My voice was flat and I could feel my annoyance growing the longer I was on the phone with her.
"Oh good," She said and exhaled like she was relieved, "Can't have anything happening to that pretty little face of yours." She laughed and I rolled my eyes. "Anyways, there's another party tonight that one of Maia's college boys is throwing and tons of people are going to be there. I was thinking we could go together, so many people are going to be there and it would be good for people to see me with you, up the rep ya know? Plus Maia has been especially annoying lately and it would be good to rub it in her face that you guys aren't anymore." She giggled a little at her never ending sentence and my heart thudded with anger.
Had she always treated people this way? How the hell did I not notice this before?
Holy shit, my girlfriend's a bitch.
