The two walked out of the room and ran to the dark room. Olivia grabbed the herb and wooden planks from the ground and installed the wooden planks on the nearby window so no zombies could get through it as Leon searched inside the room. Once he came out, he smiled slightly when he saw that I barricaded the window.

They went up the stairs and into the male showers. Olivia opened one of the lockers and a zombie fell out. She jumped and screamed a little in fear. Leon's body zapped in her direction, protectively pulling out his gun but Olivia started laughing as she realised the zombie didn't get up, meaning he was fully dead.

"How are you laughing?" He questioned, surprised at her reaction.

Olivia shrugged "It's quite funny that you're so protective"

He crossed his arms "It's funny to you, is it?"

"Kind of" she chuckled.

"It's my instinct" He replied.

"To protect me?" she questioned. Secretly, she was hoping that he would say yes however, she knew if her feelings got the best of her, it would be inevitable for her to hurt him in ways she promised herself not to get hurt so she ignored her emotions.

He nodded and then walked to examine the showers which had water spewing out of the pipes.

Olivia couldn't help but feel flattered. However, then she realised that he might just be that way to everyone, not just her so her feelings died down. She looked in the other lockers and found a portable safe. She played around with the buttons until she noticed a pattern so she followed it. The safe unlocked and there was a key in it.

Olivia looked over at Leon, who looked back at her. She narrowed my eyebrows, showing him the spare part. He walked over to her and grabbed the key off of her "Hm, we might need it for something" He said.

"Yeah, no shit. That's why it was in the safe" she replied sarcastically. Leon didn't know where the sarcasm or the sudden snappy tone came from but decided to ignore it when she continued "We need to get to the Safety Deposit Room" She grabbed the spare part back and shoved it in her hip pouch as she walked out of the room. She didn't mean to sound so snappy but she was annoyed with herself for feeling such things.

They went inside the room and she placed the key onto the pad and told Leon to tell her every number of the lockers, even the ones with the threes on them which they didn't have the key to.

He grabbed the items from the lockers and asked "How did you open 203?"

"I used the knife," she said, presenting the knife as if he didn't know what it looked like already.

"Smart" He replied as he grabbed another hip pouch out of the locker. He tossed it to her and it clipped it around my waist.

Once they were done in that room, they went to the top floor, where they found more bullets and the spade key. They both have the same idea as they run downstairs to the West Office. They got to the door which needed the spade key and unlocked it, finding a way back to the Main Hall.

After unlocking the door to the Main Hall, they went to explore more of the top floor. At the end of the hallway, they found a note.

Consider this a gift for anyone still unfortunate enough to be alive.

Keep your eyes peeled for those creepy fucks that look like they were skinned alive - "Lickers," we call 'em. They're blind as bats, but their hearing more than makes up for that.

So as long as you don't run around like a total idiot, guns a-blazing, you should be able to slip right by them... probably.

Either way, make like my grandma and creep around as slow as possible around 'em, yeah?

Anyway, not that I wanna go, but duty calls.
That, and I've got a friend to avenge.

David

"Oh God. I hope he got to avenge his friend" Olivia whispered.

Leon didn't say anything, knowing that that was probably not possible because the whole city was infected. Olivia took comfort in the fact that he didn't say anything. It was probably for the best if he didn't in case he said something insensitive.

Olivia sighed and then walked into the West Storage Room. "I can't believe it. All these people who had families are all... corpses walking" she said.

Leon put his hand on her waist and rubbed circles with his thumb. It made her feel like jelly and suddenly, she felt like she wasn't going to be able to walk in a minute. She told herself to get a grip, though "It is a sad thought, but we can't do much except fight" Leon replied.

She leaned her head on his shoulder "I know"

Leon enjoyed the contact and the hand that was on her waist was taken off, placing it on her head and rubbing her hair out of her face. It felt natural for them to be so close to each other. It didn't feel awkward or strange. It felt... comforting. Maybe because they knew that in this fucked up city, the only comfort they had was each other.

Reluctantly, Leon let go of Olivia and she took her head off of his shoulder.

Disappointment hit Olivia too, wanting him to touch her again.

They searched the room for more items. "I wonder what those "lickers" are," Leon said.

"I don't think I even want to know by the way he was describing them as things that looked like they have been skinned alive" Olivia replied "They must be ugly. I'd be mad too if I was described that way"

Leon found it humorous and laughed with her. However, their laughter came to a stop when a zombie suddenly freaked us out by hanging upside down from the ceiling unexpectedly.

"Fuck that almost gave me a heart attack," she said with my hand still on her chest.

"Come on, let's go further" Leon told her and placed a hand on the small of her back, leading her around the creature to get behind it. He didn't want to show her that he was scared too. He liked seeing Olivia so vulnerable instead of fierce.

They found another hip pouch which Leon took as they were splitting the items between each other.

Olivia looked over at the gate and saw that there was a C4. "We need a trigger for this," she told Leon and he nodded. They went out of the other door which led them to the library and explored the top bit of it.

They noticed that there was another door leading somewhere so Olivia began to walk towards it until one of the floorboards creaked and with a loud crack, she fell to the bottom.

"Jesus!" Leon exclaimed, "I'm coming down!"

Olivia's head pounded but she knew to survive amongst the zombies, she needed to get up. She was not about to die because a damn headache was preventing her from standing up and protecting herself.

She got up and dodged as many zombies as possible, trying not to waste any ammo when it was unnecessary. Leon came down to her and pulled her through a door which led them to a lounge. It had a massive unicorn statue.

Leon looked at the notebook and read out the patterns to me so Olivia could place them correctly on the statue. It unlocked and presented a unicorn medallion.

Olivia showed it to Leon and he had a smirk on his face "Well done love" It came out of nowhere and even Leon wasn't expecting himself to say that. "Sorry- I- I didn't-"

The pet name sent Olivia's body flying. She was astonished at how his words affected her and gave her a feeling she had never felt before. She wondered if he felt the same way but decided to get rid of that thought when she realised that Leon was embarrassed "It's okay" she chuckled "I don't mind"

This confused Leon "You don't mind?" Olivia smiled at him, confirming what she had said and he smirked to himself. Maybe he could get used to saying that to her- no. He can't. "We should probably get to the lion statue. We forgot about that one"

"Oh..." Olivia cleared her throat "Yeah"
