Chapter Fourteen

"We should split up" Olivia suggested.

The suggestion made Leon's heart jump out of his chest "Absolutely not"

"It would be faster for us to find the plugs, Leon" Olivia replied "Which means that we can get to Ada quicker too"

"Liv-"

"It's Olivia to you now"  She snapped, not looking in his direction.

Leon sighed, understanding her frustration. He still hasn't told her how he strongly feels about her "Olivia... I'm not letting you run around this place alone"

"Why not?" She questioned "I'll be perfectly fine"

After a moment of thought, Leon spoke up "Okay but on one condition"

"There are conditions now?" Olivia said with sarcasm.

"I'm being serious" Leon replied "We meet back at the Control Room. Alive"

Olivia rolled her eyes "Yeah, yeah, whatever"

"Also" He began and then threw the shotgun to her "Take this"

"I don't know how to use it" Olivia stated.

Leon walked up behind her "Point the gun at the zombie's head" Olivia did as he said. Leon placed her hands where they were supposed to be on the gun. They both still felt the tension that was between them but Olivia remembered the hurt of him having feelings for Ada so she shook everything off. "Now shoot"

Olivia shot at the zombie and the shotgun popped her backwards, more than she expected but she hit her back against Leon's chest. "Not that bad, right?" Leon questioned.

Olivia shook her head "No"

"Now, try it on your own," Leon told her. Reluctantly, he let Olivia go but he still felt a longing to touch her but he gave her her space.

Olivia did it by herself and eventually, she got the hang of it. "Now, we can split up" Leon said with a worried tone, not a fan of the idea. "Olivia" he stated, "You come back alive to the Control Room, got it?"

She passed him the knives she had and said "Got it" and saluted jokingly, splitting up with Leon. 

Olivia went to the Lower Waterway and found some gunpowder, however, when she walked further, one of the sewage monsters came from another sewage pipe.

"Holy shit" She muttered to herself as she got grenades out. She threw them at the monster and it collapsed. "Seriously? One grenade?" She questioned.

She walked forward and found a step, she put the T bar into the hydrant to lift the shutters, revealing another room. She found shotgun shells and then went up a small lift. She found roll film, handgun ammo and a hip pouch in the room. 

Once she was out of the room, she found another chess plug. She grabbed it quickly and ran from the zombies. Olivia walked down the stairs and a dead man was leaning against the wall and a zombie. She got out Matilda and shot at it until it collapsed.

She walked back into the sewage water and as she walked forward, there were two zombies in the way of her path so she shot them both down. 

On the other hand, Leon was in another room and just found a key. "Treatment facility" he whispered to himself and went to the treatment facility. When he got there, she found more gunpowder, MAG ammo and handgun ammo. 

He looked around and noticed that the lockers had a hole behind them so he pushed the lockers to the side, revealing an elevator.

He walked through another gate and found a grenade in the room and a closed box with S.T.A.R.S. written on it. Leon got out the USB dongle key and put it into the box. the box opened and there was a long barrel for the Lightning Hawk. 

Olivia fought off 4 monsters in the sewage water, trying to get to the two chess plugs, the king and queen. Fighting off the monsters was a struggle, though, she got hurt a few times but always got back up, eventually succeeding in beating them down.

During that time, she also found a Chemical Flamethrower. 

"Sick," She said to herself, checking out her new weapon. 

Leon and Olivia both noticed that they were taking quite a while in getting back to the Control Room, where they were supposed to meet so they both ran back to get the last chess plugs and got back to the room. 

Leon noticed how Olivia was hurt. "Holy shit! Are you alright?!" He exclaimed in worry. Olivia had cuts all over her body and some of them were still bleeding out.

"I'm fine" She replied "Have you got the last plugs?"

"That doesn't matter right now" Leon responded "What matters is that you're hurt!"

"I said I'm fine, Leon!" Olivia snapped.

"Well, you're clearly not!" Leon snapped back.

"I'm alive! The condition was to come back alive and I'm here! Alive!"

He grabbed her face gently and pointed at the deep wound "That on your cheek is not fine!" Olivia sighed in defeat "At least let me put a plaster on it" Leon told her

Olivia nodded and Leon got out an alcohol solution and a plaster to cover up the wound. Olivia sat down on one of the desks as Leon cleaned up her wound. Before Leon noticed the wounds, he noticed the flamethrower however, he thought that Olivia being hurt was much more important than a new weapon.

"I see you've got a Flamethrower," Leon said.

Olivia smiled, checking out her weapon again but then flinched when the alcohol was put onto the wound. "Sorry," Leon mumbled.

"Yeah, I think you can have your shotgun back now" She chuckled.

Leon then sighed and Olivia knew what conversation was coming up "Look, I don't like Ada"

She rolled her eyes "You're just trying to make me feel better"

"No, I genuinely don't like her like that. I mean, I care about her, sure, but I wouldn't speak to her the same way I speak to you, I wouldn't touch her the same way I touch you and I wouldn't kiss her. At all. I like you. You're the only person I am attracted to"

Olivia immediately felt guilty about accusing him "I'm sorry for-"

"It's okay" Leon replied, cutting her off "I don't like thinking about you with another guy either"

Olivia smiled "I guess we're both very... possessive"

Leon smirked "I guess we are"

The two of them locked eyes with each other and Leon looked down at her lips, then back up at her. Olivia placed her hand behind Leon's head and pulled him in for a kiss. Leon kissed Olivia back hungrily and desperately. He placed his hands on her hips, pressing himself against her more. Olivia ran her fingers through Leon's hair, pulling him into a deeper kiss. His tongue slid across her bottom lip, asking for entrance and opened her mouth more to give permission. Their tongues glided across each other in a desperate kiss. But then Leon moved his lips from hers and went from her cheeks to her neck slowly. Olivia revealed more of her neck for him to kiss.

"Wait, Leon" Olivia muttered in a deep breath.

Leon grunted lowly and lifted his head up "Hm?"

"We have an unconscious Ada downstairs" Olivia told him and he placed his head on her shoulder.

After a moment, he lifted up his head and said "Let's get back to work then"
