Empty Eyes ~ Leon Kennedy FF

Chapter Twenty-Three

As Leon and Olivia looked around the area, looking at the now empty place, Olivia's earpiece went off "Roost to Condor Two. I've identified a route to the lake. Look for a large windmill. There's a path on the far side of it"

"Looking for a windmill. Copy that" Olivia replies, looking over at Leon. He nods, understanding that they should both look for a windmill, continuing to move forward. 

"And be careful. Roost out" 

Olivia follows behind Leon and they go through a gate, walking the path towards the windmill. 

Leon and Olivia split and search the small buildings, looking for resources and other useful supplies. 

As Olivia walked towards another building, she saw a lady doing something in front of it so she snuck up behind her, put her hand over her mouth to stop her from making noise and cut her throat, dropping her body and running into the building. Leon saw her walking in and ran after her. He was trying to let her do her own thing but still felt protective over her, therefore, he wanted to keep an eye on it.

"What was that noise?" Leon questioned Olivia.

Olivia shrugged "There was a lady out front"

Leon nodded and continued searching around the building. Once they went out and followed the path again, they saw cows and Olivia patted one as it was eating. "At least the animals look healthy, right?" She said. 

Leon jolted as the pig began making a load of noise and trying to knock him down. Olivia chuckled at the sight and Leon huffed, rolling his eyes at her and making a joke of him.

Then, the man who was next to the animals noticed they were there and made a move to harm them. 

Olivia pulled out her gun and shot at the man as Leon stood up fast to try to help out, although it was too late as Olivia already killed the man. 

"That was close" Olivia spoke up, sighing in relief when she realised the man was dead.

"Yeah, I'll be more careful next time" Leon replied "Stupid pig" He mumbled. 

As Leon looked around the buildings, Olivia noticed something was hanging from the small structure of a windmill so she shot at the jar.

When it fell, she picked up a pearl pendant that was in it. She hummed in interest as she took a look at it. 

Leon peeked from a building, taking a look at what was going on. He narrowed his eyebrows at Olivia and she shrugged at him, putting up the pearl pendant. He rolled his eyes sarcastically and went back into the building he was raiding.  

Once he was done, he waved for Olivia to follow him as he was going further so she obliged and they went into another part of the village, exploring more buildings and killing a few more infected villagers. 

When they into a specific building, someone from the other side of it busted down the door, revealing a being with a massive hammer and a cow's head. 

"What the fuck" Olivia exclaimed, pulling out her gun to shoot, however, Leon didn't think that a lousy gun could do much damage to it so he thought quickly. He saw the shotgun still strapped to Olivia and grabbed it, then shot it at the Brute.

Due to all the noise, more people were coming towards them with pitchforks and other weapons. Whilst Leon was busy with the Brute, Olivia dealt with the others, shooting, kicking, punching and slicing through them. 

Once Leon killed the Brute, he helped Olivia out as there were way too many for one person to deal with. 

Once everyone was down, they both sighed in relief and walked forward. "What the hell was that thing?" Olivia questioned rhetorically.
