Olivia placed the keycard into the slot and the shutters opened. Leon and Olivia both followed Ada.

"Is that the intel you needed?" I questioned Ada.

"Unfortunately, no. Ben didn't come through" She replied.

Leon was confused so he decided to question her as well "What exactly are you looking for?"

"More info on the people responsible for this mess" Ada answered. "What about you?" She looked at Leon "Trying to save the world?"

The way she was looking at him made Olivia's body on fire but she took a deep breath, holding in her jealousy. What if he wasn't a one-woman type of guy?

"I told Lieutenant Branagh I'd bring help" Leon responded.

"Good luck getting that" Ada stated. Then, we got to a massive hole in the city and Ada said "Road's out"

"No fucking shit" Olivia mumbled to herself, feeling more hatred towards the woman.

"Going through that gun shop looks like the only way," Ada said.

Ada unlocked the door and went inside. There were destroyed empty shelves and lot of dust, and chipped wood everywhere. Olivia found a hand grenade and took it, the same as handgun ammo.

As she walked passed a door, a man jumped into her view with a gun "Don't move"

"Not the worst part of my day" she muttered to herself and the man moved the gun so she would feel it on her temple.

Leon saw what was happening and immediately felt the need to protect Olivia so he pointed his gun at the man "Don't you dare touch her" He warned.

Olivia felt a nerve twitch as she heard how dangerous Leon's voice sounded. The man was lowering his gun but then when Ada came into view, the man pointed his gun at her.

Leon pulled Olivia behind him and she wrapped her hand around his bicep, feeling safe that he was protecting her. She trusted him.

On the other hand, Leon felt angry that the man tried to touch Olivia. If Olivia died, he would be stuck alone with the woman who showed no signs of life. Especially when she pointed her gun at the child behind the man and said "Step aside. We need to terminate her before she turns"

"Terminate? That's my fucking daughter!" The man yelled.

Olivia felt her heart sink. She knew that the man was trying his best to have as much time with his daughter as he possibly could before she turned. Olivia never knew that kind of love from her father, therefore decided to speak up.

"Let them be, Ada," She told her, her tone clear of any emotion.

Ada looked over at her and then at Leon, who nodded at Ada, agreeing with Olivia. Ada lowered her gun and my nerves were getting the best of me because Ada decided to listen only when Leon approved of my statement.

"Emma, sweetheart... I told you to stay put" The man said, still pointing his gun at Ada.

"Daddy...?" The little girl muttered.

"Olivia!" her dad yelled. "Olivia, get down here!"

Her little feet scrambled into the kitchen and reached high for the beer on the top shelf of the fridge.

"Hurry up!"

She struggled to reach but when she finally got the beer, she ran into the living room where her dad was lying on the couch, watching TV.

"Finally. Took you fucking long enough" Her father exclaimed, giving her a slight hit on the head. Not enough to bruise her but enough to make her wince. Her father scoffed "Get out of my sight"

She ran upstairs, continuing to play with her dollhouse. She heard the door open and mummy was home. However, so was Daddy and that was never good.

Soon after there was shouting and a loud crash of a bottle and more shouting. The little girl covered her ears and sang herself a lullaby her mother always sang to her.

She heard footsteps coming upstairs, they were light and gentle. Mummy.

Her mother kneeled in front of her and placed a hand behind her head, playing with her hair "Mummy's going to go somewhere far away" The little girl was happy, she would finally be able to spend time with her mum outside of the house. "I need you to stay here and take care of all your teddies"

"Mummy?" the girl cried out.

"Yeah, Livvy?"

"Why can't I go with you?"

Her father's footsteps were heard. Mummy kissed the girl's head and left the room. There was more shouting, more crashes and then a bang. The door closed.

The little girl went downstairs after a few hours, seeing her father passed out on the couch. She covered him with a blanket. "I love you, daddy"

Leon looked over at Olivia. He noticed she couldn't take her eyes off the scene in front of her. He realised she wasn't paying attention to the little girl and her dad, she was in her own thoughts. Just then, he saw a tear slip and he placed his hand on her arm "Are you okay, Liv?" He questioned with worry.

He knew he could save her life if it would come to it. He knew how. However, what he didn't know was how to save her from her own pain.

Olivia finally got out of her trance and looked up at Leon "Yeah, yeah, sorry" She said, wiping her tears "I'm just-"

"It's okay," Leon said, cutting her off "I understand"

Although he didn't know anything, he could guess that she didn't have a very present father in her life, either if he was dead or if he was alive.

Olivia thanked Leon for being so understanding. She didn't want to speak of it. It was especially embarrassing now that he had seen her cry.

"Those fuckin' things outside... Look what they did to us," The man said, turning towards all of us. "You're a cop. You're supposed to know something. How did this happen?! Huh?!" The man yelled in frustration. "She was our sweet little angel"

"Mommy...?" The girl mumbled.

"Mommy's sleeping, honey, okay?" The man told his daughter. That meant that the mum was probably dead. "And I'm gonna put you to bed too, okay?" He picked up his daughter and walked to the door, but before he went in, he turned to the three standing "Just go... just give us some privacy" The door slammed and we all stood there in silence until Leon spoke up.

"You know, it's one thing to keep the truth from me but why him?!" He raised his voice, pointing at the door. There was a gunshot and they all looked towards it. "I want to find out what's happening here. And stop whoever's behind it. Helping people like them... that's why I joined the force"

Ada walked towards Leon "My mission is to take down Umbrella's entire operation. We may not make it out"

"Whatever it takes to save this city... count me in" Leon said and then looked over at Olivia and she nodded, not wanting to speak through her few tears.
