Chapter Seventeen

Olivia was tuning the modulator to MURF which turned on the power. 

Leon and Olivia then went into the Low Temp Testing Room. 

"Welcome back, Dr. Li. You have [5] new messages"

They both looked through Dr. Li's inbox and saw that there were a lot of emails from other people.

"Have you seen my helix anywhere? I put the secret on the bottom" was the email of importance to them.

Olivia looked at the trophy and saw that there was, in fact, a secret on the bottom of the trophy. It was another code in the lab. 

They went back into the room to enter the code. Once they entered it, they went through the greenhouse and into another room. Olivia placed the tube into the compartment.

"Manual mode engaged. Adjust the amount of solution to match a cartridge capacity"

Once they fiddled about, they finally found the right amount for the Dispersal Cartridge. 

They then went to the freezing room. When they got there, Leon questioned jokingly "Who left the freezer open?" 

Olivia shivered from the cold as she placed the Dispersal Cartridge into the compartment.

"Cooling sequence in progress"

After a while of the machine doing its work, the herbicide came out of the compartment.

"Cooling complete"

We placed the tube into another compartment so the solution would dispense and the vines would let go of the body so we c

"Warning: You have dispensed a dangerous solution without authorization. Your actions have been logged and you may be subject to disciplinary measures"

"I think we can handle that" Olivia said and Leon agreed, grabbing the electronic chip and passing it to her which she attached to the wristband.

When it was attached, we saw the Tyrant busting through the window. "Shit. Him again?!" Leon exclaimed and pulled Olivia with him to run.  

They ran to the Main Shaft and Olivia opened up the path to the West Area. They got through the door and there was a dead man against a wall. Leon searched their body and found a video cassette and a grenade which he gave to Olivia. 

There was another modulator placement so Olivia tuned it to OSS which powered the lab. Leon put the cassette in the device and watched it which showed William Birkin possessive over the G-virus. Then, the men shot William. 

"So those were G samples?" Leon questioned.

Olivia shrugged "It looks like it"

They went through the Bioreactors Room and into the Bioreactor Lab which contained G Embryos. Olivia looked around the room as Leon got the G-virus. 

He showed it to Olivia and she said "Back to Ada, then"

"Attention: Unauthorized removal of a [level 4] virus detected. Facility lockdown initiated. The Self-destruct sequence will begin when the lockdown is complete"

"Oh fuck" Olivia mumbled.

"We should go" Leon demanded "Now" and latched onto Olivia's hand, pulling her with him. 

When they walked across the path, back to the Main Shaft, the monster with the eye on his arm stopped them. As they were about to shoot at it, Annette ran into the room "Move! He's mine!" She exclaimed, limping over toward the creature "This has to end" She shot acid at it. 

"What the hell is going on?!" Leon questioned. 

"Sorry, William" Annette said "You left me no choice"

When it collapsed, they walked toward it and kneeled in front of it. "You called it William? Why?" Olivia asked Annette. 

She shook her head "It shouldn't have been like this. It's Umbrella's fault - this whole mess"

"You're Umbrella too" Leon stated "You're telling me you weren't involved in this?"

"Yes... but we never meant for this to happen" Annette yelled.

"Then tell us everything - Right from the start" Leon walked up to Annette. 

She explained how William Birkin injected himself.

"So you made this monster?" Olivia questioned.

"We made the G virus, but we never intended this to-"

"You can spin it any way you want but you're still responsible" Leon told her and then Annette got picked up by the monster and it threw her against the wall. 

It began fighting us and Annette pressed the button which lowered the platform. "What are you doing?!" Olivia called out.

"We can't let him get away!" Annette yelled.

"Selfish bitch" Olivia mumbled, shooting at the creature. 

We found multiple grenades and ammo around the area to help us beat down the creature. It had many eyes and therefore many weak points which meant we needed more ammo and weapons to help defeat the beast. 

Olivia used Matilda to shoot the eyes and once the monster was down for a bit, Leon used his shotgun for the smaller eyes on its chest. This carried on until the monster picked up an object and threw it at the two but before it could hit them, they split in two directions, dodging it. 

"Liv, are you alright?" Leon questioned.

"I'm fine!" She yelled back, continuing their process.

Once the monster was defeated, the voice from the speakers came again "Target neutralized. Ending quarantine" 

They got onto the lift, and back up to Annette. Leon kneeled in front of her "Jesus... that looks bad"

"Feels worse, believe me," Annette grunted out. 

Olivia sat down, putting her knees up to her chest as Leon and Annette had their conversation. 

"Look, about what you said... I don't know how much I believe it, but I'm willing to-" Leon started but got cut off by her

"Just tell me you'll destroy that G sample" Annette begged.

"No" Leon shook his head, shocked at what she said "It's evidence. It's going to the FBI"

Annette chuckled "You trust that bitch?"

Olivia lifted her head and Leon and her looked at each other in confusion. "What's that supposed to mean?" Olivia asked.

"She's not FBI. She's a mercenary" Annette replied and Olivia's jaw dropped. "She's gonna sell it- The G-virus is gonna go to the highest bidder"

"That's bullshit" Leon mumbled.

"I hope you're right" Annette groaned in pain as she lay down on the floor. "But if the G virus gets into the wrong hands..."

Leon and Olivia looked at each other again, not knowing what to do. Leon took a deep breath. "The only people we can trust now is each other. Got it?"

"Wouldn't have it any other way" Olivia said, standing up.
